What's wrong with this kid? Jeeez. I could probably concuct a diet and exercise regime which would help him but yeah.

finished. Why we kept him on the list is anyone's guess.

The reason we kept him on is because he always showed a lot of potential, but couldnt stay on the park, and in the past we have lacked midfield depth, on the odd chance that he could get fit we kept him because he could have been quite valuable ion an area of our weakness. but now it looks like it is curtains for him which is a damn shame

The thing about having someone for depth is they should be available most of the time. Browne has been injured the last 5 years and hasn't really shown much when he wasn't. Stupid decision to keep him on the list.

It was always just a matter of when he did his hammy again. I never doubted this was far off at any stage, any game they can get out of him for Claremont is a bonus.

He is only 24 years old. He had a good season for Claremont last year and I guess they thought that his injury run would come to an end at some stage. He was more likely to get a game than Ryley Dunn.
The four weeks includes the break, so he will be back out there in no time.

I predict he will play AFL footy this year.

dont agree with that, i thought he showed plenty of potential when fit. daniel haines was the same, had plenty of potential, but at the end of the day injuries took over, but on the odd chance that they did come good, i reckon it was worth the risk. just like i reckon its worth the risk on keeping riley dunn, if he can get injury free he will be a great midfield option.

its all well and good looking in hindsight. at the time the risk was worth it.

i suppose your a caleb mourish supporter hey? talk about wasted positions on a list

real shame he hasn't gone on with it because of injuries. you'd have to assume that 2 if not all of webster/dunn/browne are in their last years. then who else to retire/go...belly, macca, matt carr, warnock?

would anyone take a punt on ryley dunn? he was a pretty high draft pick wasn't he?

Yeah because Mourish being on the rookie list is really hurting out list management, get a clue.

Mouris actually seems to have improved quite a bit. and as he is on the rookie list, which is basically a trial and error list he does no harm.

I rated him highly too. If he stayed fit, I have no doubt he would have been given a run at some stage this year.

Real shame injuries appear to have gotten the better of him.

Really hope he can come back from this and string some quality games together towards the end of the year, but I'm not holding my breathe :(

Unfortunately he is and has always been physically fragile, very good skills but doesn't have the body for AFL. The club should've realised that many years ago.

I'm not sure he has the body for WAFL either.

It's sad because he really does have some talent.

I've never had a soft tissue injury in my life... wonder why others seem to get them.

Probably because not all body types are the same and some people are obviously going to be more prone to injury - especially when subjected to the stress of AFL training intensity.

Then once you've torn your hammy it becomes more prone to tears. Apparently broken bones heal stronger but torn muscles heal weaker. Something to do with the build-up of scar tissue which is less elastic and therefore more prone to tearing.

Sydney????

What's the go b-p????

That's a different fella to our back pocket I think.

Thats pretty much the gist of it...

Im devastated for him and webster too... Both have really good skills and attitudes to boot. Think about it, for 3 years now they keep getting struck down but both keep chipping away and trying to fight back into our team. Wish them both all the luck in the world...

WHo knows, Nathan brown has missed a tonne of football over the last 4 years... maybe the guys could get some luck on their side and make a contribution...

Good luck fellas

Yeah but even in the first place to get them. Pav has never done one has he? Either way are you suggesting anyone who has done 2-3 hammies should pretty much be traded away or delisted? Are we going to learn from this mistake?

For some reason I see hammies occurring due to players softness or something they are doing wrong in their preparations, at least the initial few hammies. Players like Buckley and Cousins that probably have a whole hammie made out of scar tissue are different kettles of fish that a whole branch of medical science could be created around.

An initial reason they may occur is drinking alcohol the night before a game or training, your body is dehydrated and you're ignorant about it for whatever reason..... then you go do some strenous exercise, stress the muscle a little too much then snap. I don't know why AFL attracts pissheads to it, you don't really see olympic athletes out on the town drinking and living it up, or even at home. I'd say it mostly comes down to the professionalism of the person in question.
