*Bump*

Got this the other day to tide me over till Red Dead Redemption et al come out.

No doubt it has many serious lulz in it - probably the funniest game I have ever played; and there also seems to be a pretty sweet soundtrack- particularly for someone who grew up in the 70s. As always i do like the open world aspect of it but the game play is underwhelming. The challenges seems a little ludicrous (maybe that is the point?) or not that err challenging. Weapons are shitty.

Dunno, maybe I have to get further into the game, but not that impressed to be honest. Well behind the likes of Batman AA, UC2, Asssasins Creed2, The Saboteur etc for mine.

Did anyone expect it to beat those titles (althought The Saboteur is junk)?
It's a funny game that ultimately could have been a magnificent game for metalheads but ended up seeming 75% complete. Could the whole Activision debacle have had an effect? Who knows.

Dunno, but it seemed to rate highly on many peoples best of '09 lists. That's why I'm somewhat disappointed by it.

I liked The Saboteur. Thought it was a very under rated game, actually. Personal taste, i suppose.

Started this today after having it for a few months. About two thirds of the way through and am loving it. Soundtrack is absolutely awesome and Jack Black just owns Eddie Riggs. Really enjoying the humour and general funny nature of the game. Graphics aren't anything special but hold up okay. Likewise with the draw distance.

Few minor annoyances though, no jump for one and the 'fly' ability only available in the stage battles make traversing some of the terrain more tedious than it needs to be. Another is the finicky RTS elements. For the most part the RTS works 'okay' but not being able to select units easily and the directing of them being poor really shone out. Of course not so much the games fault as the consoles.

Aaaaah this game could have been something special, if only it was a full fledged action-platformer.....
Not to mention how rushed the story became. Ah well, it was a brave venture by Double Fine.

I appreciate the game's ambition, and I've loved both of Double Fine's efforts since, but I thought this was a mess - I did only play 5 or 6 hours, though.
