Richards won't play again for Collingwood.

He was ok today, which is an improvement from Richards.

He offers a physical presence even tho he is undersized, his physical game will help fraser more than Richards

Richards was rightly played first IMO as he is a better tap ruckman, but when he didn't perform and now Bryan will get his chance

Must remember tho that he was up against two of the worst players going around in Laycock and Ryder, they are not Rucks at all

Richards had to compete against McIntosh, Seaby, Lade, Simmonds.....massive step up from Ryder

Interesting to see how Bryan goes against Hudson from the Crows, hopefully he does well

Hmmmm, anyone see the Bryan VS Lucas collision? BONE-CRUNCHING! Its so good to finally have someone like Chris Bryan down at Collingwood, thats the type of body we need on the field!

He offers us something in so many different areas..

Presence with size

Some competition in the ruck

Fills holes

Has skills, more skills then a C Cloke or a G Richards

Can read the play well and reacts well compared to other ruckmen

Bryan gave us more in one game for Collingwood than Guy Richards has given us in six years!

We used him well through the middle with short passes. Players actually wanted to use him, they just ignore Richards when he made space.

He is prepared to put his big frame on the line and hurt someone!

Thank Christ we played him. Looks a far better option than Guy. Think we have seen the last Guy unless Fraser or Bryan get injured. Hille would have been more a test for him but he was encouraging.

Couldn't be bothered trying to find them, but remember all the 'Fraser to the forward line' threads pre season? Early days, but does Bryan in fact have the body to be the option everyone imagined Fraser could be in the forward line? Has played 2 physical games for the Pies where his size has been a distinct advantage. Still young and not an ideal ruck, but mobile and able to use body one on one, that is something Fraser will never be able to do against a big back line KPP. Possibly an emerging option.
