Pies get themselves up for a big game against Geelong then fluff this one. They've had 3 huge games the last 3 weeks and delivered once against a side they beat regularly. Today's effort just makes last week look like a total fluke.

The fact they dropped off today and Buckley's comments that they 'didn't want it' is pretty much another big nail in the coffin. I'd expect them to give him another month, and if it doesn't change much or they get embarrassed by GWS then just put in an interim coach, Caracalla perhaps, and see what he can do.

Who the **** is going to replace Buckley if they sack him? Hawks aren't going to get rid of Clarkson after 1 bad season, he's more than earned the right to try and rebuild a side. Malthouse will be sitting back in his leather recliner and baby seal fur slippers with the smuggest look on his face you've ever seen. Collingwood are a basket case and it's all fat Eddie's fault, he should take up Fev's offer, the circus needs a ring master.

Buckley has shown that he really has NFI in the coaches box on game day. The "success" he's had has never been due to brilliant tactics or altering the game plan on the fly to combat an opposition strength or momentum. Other than Reid swinging forward or back the wins have been from the stellar performances of star players supported by also rans doing the hard yards.

They only had two decent players today the usually great Pendlebury and a guy who busts his arse in Elliott the rest were ineffectual to just plain poor. The touted "great Collingwood youth" either isn't there or is being badly managed.

I just don't understand what they did with greenwood... Good enough to take selwood out of the game last week and this week he plays solely at half forward not doing much. Just don't understand what Buckley does tactically ever. Its like they play man on man every third game, win, then go back to a high press zone and lose.

They are a bit like Melbourne City. Got some good players on the ground but ******* peanuts up in the box.

Get a decent coach while this squad is still developing and they'll go somewhere. Linger with Buckley and they'll stagnate ala Richmond.

They are going through a long rebuild of the list. Just need a few more years for Moore to hit his peak.

I say they give Bucks til the end of 2020 at least.
Sighn Bucks for onother 5 just to make sure he can coach ..
Give him another 5 years hes doing a great job...absolutely ruined Collingwood
I can't wait for Buckley to go so we don't have to keep hearing these lame jokes being repeated by 25 different posters each time this thread gets bumped.

A lot on d moores shoulders but he is not a power forward hes more a mobile type but even then he rarely gets hit up in the lead. Without him affecting the game and no other kpf they go inside 50 relying on smaller types. Rfc have a not dissimilar prob.

Many don't know this, but while he is asleep, Mick Malthouses moustache crawls off his face and heads down to Collingwood HQ. While there is sabotages all the game plans and training drills, then heads off home with everyone none the wiser.
They picked the wrong mow to mess with.

These are just a few things that are easier as an AFL footballer than trying to learn Buckley's game plan for moving the ball from the Defensive 50 to the Forward 50.

Its so genius that it seems at times like we aren't even trying to kick goals. See, if you kick the ball backwards enough, you might fool the other team into forgetting that your trying to kick goals, and thats when you capitalize.

Or because Eddie refuses to admit they ****ed up by appointing Bucks in the fashion that they did.

Bucks has taken Collingwood backwards every single year since he's been coach. The "we're going through a mini-rebuild" excuse might've worked for the first few years, but they now look like dropping spots on the ladder yet again this year. The call has to be made.

Collingwood were actually my smokie for bottom 4 at the start of the year. Their list is horribly unbalanced, with a fantastic midfield surrounded by average KPP stocks. Looking like a good tip so far.
Smoky? I couldn't believe people were talking them up as finals contenders.

At least Bucks did an apprenticeship, even if it was at his old club. Hird and Voss just went straight in as head coach. Ridiculous, anyone could see that it wasn't a good idea. Maybe that's why Buckley has lasted slightly longer than the other two.
He didn't really. I don't think mick taught him anything, and I don't think Bucks wanted to learn.

I looked at the odds this week, going into yesterday, Collingwood were unbelievably priced at $26 for the flag and this morning they have drifted only to $34. They are still rated as about the 8th fav for the flag by bookmakers. What a joke- they should be at about $80.

Manchester United, Juventus,
I think he will see the year out, no point replacing him mid season as no one is available. Would be seriously in Caracella's managements ears in the meantime though
