Well I thought it was thread worthy.... :(

All these posts Wicksy, going to have to sport a new moniker - how about WTM?

I liked that article a lot. Bucks getting intense and busy with the feedback.

From all reports it also is sounds very pleasing about Luke Ball.

I remember reading that every year he has had an interrupted preseason for whatever reason. Even 2005 he couldn't do a lot of training from memory.

This could be his first full preseason which would mean a 100% fit and firing Luke Ball. God I hope he smashes St Kilda either NAB or early season

Matty's Training Report;:):D

Went along this morning, for the first time this year, and was met with a fairly big crowd for this time of year, maybe 500 fellow pies fans.

Notable abstentees; Jolly, N.Brown, Medhurst, Maxwell, Presti, Cook, Malthouse.

All other were in attendance, with Fraser, Cloke and Keefe doing only light duties throughout the session.

The highlight of the session was the full ground session, where teams split into 2, wearing the blue training tops and the new Yellow Aussie training tops.

Players who stood out;

* Harry O'Brien; Was flying, tearing around the ground, leading aggressively and as suggested in the article was very vocal throughout.
* Simon Buckley; First time I'd seen him "in the flesh", and he is bigger then I thought, Moved very well throughout the session, and looked very fit.
* Shae McNamara; Was impressive throughout, with the obvious weakness being his foot skills. One piece of play that stood out was when Goldsack tried to pick a fellow team mate out in the forward pocket, Shae read the kick and cut the lead off, storming away with the ball.
* Heath Shaw; Headband, LOL.:D
* Luke Ball; Is in great physical form, did everything with the main group, and was part of the midfield group at all time. Is flying really.
* Alan Didak; Loves his right boot still.:p:eek: Someone tell him he's a left footer.
* Cameron Wood; Has lost all of his "puppy fat", and most of his hair. I thought it was Thoolen making a comeback, he looked that fit and thin.
* Sean Rusling; Took part in most of the session, but came off and did "wind sprints" up and down the supporters side for 10 minutes. Looked very fit.
* Jack Anthony; Didn't do a lot, stayed up one end and did a lot of work with Gavin Brown again. Seems short of overall fitness, as he tired quickly a few times after leads. No obvious signs of any other injury though, and his kicking was superb.
* Josh Thomas; I can see now why he was available late in the draft, he is just slightly small at 178cm, and he looks even shorter then that sometimes. Has extreme pace and skill though, haven't gone off him one bit.
* Jarrad Blight; Looks like a shorter version of Shaemus, especially the way he runs, but obviously has a lot more skill. Is coming along very nicely, wouldn't be surprised if he was in the NAB Cup game.
* Anthony Corrie; Trained the house down, looked sensational, might be turning over a new leaf. Almost happy we kept him now.

Was good to watch the boys train live, didn't have a camera as I was on my way elsewhere afterwards, but was a strong session overall. I strongly suggest anyone with any "doubts" over our list go check a training session out, it will lighten your mood.

Questions, comments welcome.:)

Thanks Matty!

Why would Anthony just be doing leads with Gavin Brown if he is not fit? He should be running his butt off & trying to get some fitness. He had shoulder surgery, so that shouldnt affect him from running & training now. Ok there have been reports that he has a groin injury, but I just dont understand if he was injured why he would be training at all??

Any word on Fraser & Cloke? DID they look like they were running flat out & when they hell is Fraser actually going to do full training?

Lastely Presti/Maxwell havent been seen training for a while now, any news as to why?

Was Jolly & Medhurst rested?

Gee I ask alot of question!!! lol

It just seems we have alot of injured players right now!!

Corrie played one excellent AFL game last year.
He was one of our best in the VFL finals from what I am told.

He would be getting regular games at a few of the lesser clubs, but he is purely a fall back at the Pies at this time.

The bloke is apparently very accepting of his position in the club and always willing to do anything asked of him. He never gets in trouble and has never embarrassed the club off-field.

We should at least give the respect he deserves for that.:thumbsu:

All this talk of Simon Buckley has gotten me excited, and I'm not entirely sure why. Probably because I have no expectations for him, unlike Ball and Jolly...

He has a huge amount of upside if he can stay on the paddock and he was like the freebie you get when you're the 1 millionth customer at your local Mercedes dealership.:)

i've actually stated quite a few times (probably mainly on EBW) that i think corrie may be an important player for us in 2010.
Was great end of season in the vfl, he is quick, he carries the ball, can win a contested footy and he kicks team lifting running goals.
If he gets super fit which is his weakness, i'd play him, especially with dick out. I'd play him infront of tarks due to the fact corrie can break a line. Not the worst in my book, he may turn a new leaf like medders in 2008 (maybe not AA)

Mick usually lets one of the assistants coach the side during the NAB cup doesn't he? I wonder if he'll let Bucks take a stab, might be an interesting experiment.

didak is hardly a squib, he isnt a Luke Ball kamikaze but he is hardly a squib wicksy

EDIT what happened to wicksy's post?

I decided my call regarding Corrie was uninformed and removed the post.
I do however believe that Didak is the biggest squib in our team!

I understand that he is not required to be at the bottom of a pack but if I see him shirk a contest or give away a free kick because he's too scared of losing his shorts, I will throw a brick through my TV!

He is my favourite player though.... It's just frustrating watching him sometimes... :P
