Bucks SHOULD step down... he can't lead from the injury list he has had his time in the spotlight, and done us proud but it is not fair to others who should now lead the team.
The team seem to be adapting to life without Bucks. I doubt we will see Bucks play again. Sad but true.

Jimmy, when he retires, Heater will be the man for the job
Heater will have his time in the sun there's no doubt about that but the reality is James will be the next captain. Heater isn't even in the leadership group so he's got BUCKLEY'S chance of getting the gig. (And yes that was a deliberate pun )

If he is on the list he is our best leader and should be captain.
Injuries shouldn't come into it, at the start of the season Buckley was fit and raring to go.......any one of our players could get injured, inlcuding H.shaw and Clement

I don't have a problem with Bucks still being captain if he's on the list. But if he retires or decides to give up the captaincy early before calling it a day then the gig will go to James.
Buckley offered up the captaincy if the rest of the team didn't won't him to be captian, but the majority of the players voted that they preffered Buckley ahead of Clement. If the club came to him and suggested that he give up the captaincy he would, but for now, because of the players he is still captain.

To do with Tarkyn's onfield performance, which is the reason, in previous threads that have been made, he would not make a good captain.
This is a very sensative topic at the club, if you take out bucks Scotty Burns should have had it a long time ago. As good as clement is, i think Scotty burns should have it. It wont happen, but he is just what our club is all about.

Licuria, Burns, Clement, Rocca all at one stage of their career could've easily been the captain. We have a bit of a gap for captain material as the next group down is too young, I'm talking about Cloke, Thomas even Pendlebury.
Maxwell, Fraser and Johnson are definately leaders but would leave a lot to be desired as captains. Maxwell not good enough to be the captains, Fraser not inspirational on field (although I think he is better in this way then we give him credit for, against Richmond he fired our troops up with strong words), Johnson does not have enough media savvy and past indiscretions may go against him despite his outstanding (non-court ordered) community service.
Then we have H.Shaw. A 4th year player (made debut in 2nd year) who seems to be captain material. The only major query would be even if he has another season similar or better to last, are 2 great seasons under your belt enough?
