Buddy is about to prove....

that he is not the arrogant, up himself, self confident and a complete love himself w***er everyone likes to portray him as.

By posting this thread you have undone one of your main arguments against Buddy's supposed flawed personality (can't attack his football). All you've achieved is to give us a sneak peek into the jealousy that is fostered by you and a lot of other supporters.

Thanks for the validation.
amen!

You want big stage?

Go and watch the 1988 Grand Final. Garry Lyon played that game, not that you'd know as he only makes a few fleeting appearances.

Buddy has played 2 finals, kicked 7 goals in one and 3 in the other. I'll take 5 goals a final every day of the week, thanks very much. :thumbsu:

7 goals in a dinky elimination final against 8th placed does not count, the following week against a top four side comes the real test, the team is more better, more pressure and physicality is applied to the game, everything lifts up a huge notch from playing 8th placed in a elimination final to playing a top four side the week after, the deeper you get into the finals the more everything lifts as sides get a greater sniff of that flag getting closer. When the football went up another notch in the semi final, Lance Franklin was no where to be seen, could not handle the extra physical and mental pressure of the big stage finals game against a top four side, also could not handle the next step of physicality the finals match took it up to. when comparing him to Mooney you have to look at how they Have both kicked their goals, stats do not always paint the correct picture, Mooney played a huge majority of his football before last season away from the forward line, he only became a permanent full forward last season, Cameron Mooney was able to step up and deliver in the game of all games when it matters the most, kicking 5 goals in the AFL grand final, their is not a more bigger occasion then that, And Mooney lead from the front up forward.

Franklin on the other hand when things went up a notch or two in the semi final could not handle the next level of finals football standards. For the Amount of times Buddy has the ball kicked to him a game, He is pretty much your only player you kick the ball to, the odd one or two goes to Roughhead, 3 goals is definitely a fail for the amount of opportunities he had. Geelong has talent spread out everywhere in the forward line who are capable of kicking multiple goals and we have plenty of targets to kick it to, which explains why we did not have any one player kick over 5 goals in a match during the season but we still scored more then 300 points then anyone else in the competition, simply because we have a whole range of players who are good enough to kick their 3 or 4 up forward. meaning that Mooney did not get the ball kicked to him 50 more times like Franklin would have, to compare a Grand final 5 goal performance from full forward who had the ball kicked to him half as much to a player who had it kicked to him twice as much kicking 3 goals in s semi final is a ridiculous comparison thou.

Mooney can play finals football against top sides when it counts, Franklin cant :thumbsu:

Also it has proved that those people are not just wrong, but the people who still continue to believe it are ignorant as well.:thumbsu:

What makes you think anyone is going to read that ramble when your shorter posts rarely make sense dude?

You're fighting a lone battle. Can I suggest changing your user name and starting from scratch, your angle is getting very tired, bordering on pathetic.

Wouldn't mind seeing this interview, any die-hard hawks out there wanna pop it onto youtube??

Scratch that ^^

Seen it (thanks TWITA) and was very impressed with the young fella. Especially the semi-subtle dig at caro, hutchy et al who have never met the kid. :thumbsu:

Seems to know the score.

Must have been hard for all the haters waiting for something to jump on. :D:D

for anyone who is not a considerably slow processor in their brain this would take a matter of a minute or so to read, your not having problems reading a paragraph or two are you? if you would like the writing in bold letters so you can read it more easily i am more then happy to do so to accommodate for your needs :thumbsu:, all makes perfect sense what i wrote, the fact is the same as always, i touch on a sensitive true fact about your football club and you all start with the personal attacks on me because you know that i am right like always,

same old story, i am just to smart and good a debater:thumbsu:

that he is without doubt one of the most unintelligent men to ever play AFL...and that is saying something.

I have no doubt his performance on the Footy Show will put him prove what a ***** this man is.....trust me.

yet going by your posting history, buddy is still much cleverer than you.

how embarassing ;)

heard that lyon had to provide questions, a week early for the star to read and have answers prepared for him

he believes he should not go out much, and does not go out much
but is always out
the guy is dumb as, lacks genuine ability to communicate in an honest manner, that is common with people in denial

the guy can play. put him behind a camera and it is time to laugh.
lol,

Mass Debater.

And I can't be ####ed reading your shit either fool.

Never have, never will.

Garry Lyon could play well in finals matches against quality sides, Franklin is no where near the player Lyon was. Lyon never went missing on the big stage like buddy does.

is that what your Dad told you - maybe he doesn't like you very much?

Lyon certainly shat himself in 1988 GF.

he played one famous finals match in 1994 against Footscray, and then went missing the next week in the prelim.

Lyon's finals record is ok. not terrible, not fantastic.

Correct.

Lyon booted a lazy 10 goals in a Final. SOmething Buddy will never accomplish.

He also booted 79 goals in 1994, and another 77 in 1995. And that was splitting time between the forward line and midfield, even going back on a few occassions.

Buddy does not have this flexiibilty, he is very one-dimensional.

look you weren't old enough to be walking upright in 1994, so don't tell us where he played.

Lyon was a 14 touch 2 goal a game forward. very nice option, super silky player who never really seemed to make the most of his talent.

not in Buddy's class. unless something goes horribly wrong with Buddy from here on in.

Lyon was a champion player who stepped up on the big stage,

except that he didn't. he had some good games and some really shit finals games too. rarely did he perform in finals above his average. in no way was he a big game performer.

Look up Johnson, W if you're interested.

Franklin is not even in the same league as Lyon was.

my opinion outranks you on 2 fronts:
1. I saw both play and have first hand knowledge to rely upon
2. you don't seem very clever.

paragraphs dude.

if you're going to give your tedious, simple opinions at least make them readable.

Incidentally if anyone is interested in Garry - Big Game - Lyon's finals career. now he was a definitely a good player, but he was no finals hero.

Career Average over 226 games 14.5 disposals; 4.6 marks, 1.9 goals a game;

Finals Average over 12 games: 15.4 disposals; 4.6 marks, 2.17 goals a game

which immediately is about the same. slight increase in goals, but on the whole more of the same.

now old Garry had 1 great finals game in his career. 10 goals against the mighty Footscray (who finished all of 5th that year) in 1994.

if we take out that 1 outlier. his finals record is this:

Finals over 11 games: 15.2 disposals; 4 marks a game, 1.45 goal per game.

Bottom line: only an idiot would hold Lyon out as a great finals performer. he was bog standard average in big games at best.

The reason I chose not to read your post, was not because it was not in bold, was not because it was lot of words, it was because you wrote it..

You blew your credibility a long time ago my friend.
