Buddy pinged for a sling tackle, has anybody seen the video on this?

Could do without losing him at this stage of the season.

Don't know if he was but Gerard Healy was the one that said it SHOULD be but we all know he likes to jump at shadows when it comes to Buddy.
Looked to me like just a hard tackle, port player dropped it half way through.

Should be fine. One action tackle and his head didn't even get close to the ground. Player dropped the ball as Buddy was in the action of 'slinging' him so it wasn't a late tackle.

Then again we are talking about the MRP and it's decision out of a hat rulings

Who knows. If it wasn't Franklin I'd be confident there's no case to answer but the AFL would love to suspend him for the Carlton game to give them an advantage - remember they want the "big 4" Victorian clubs Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon & Richmond there in September to boost those all-important TV ratings.

Looked bad but players head was fine so shouldnt be much in it

Head was no where near ground ... didn't stop Gerard talking it up as a muderous crime .. James Kelly not even cited last week for something that could have paralyzed an opponent .. go figure

If Healy was on the MRP panel he would be gone, but although the tackle looked bad the port player landed hard on his elbow and wasn't injured, so should be fine, absolutely no contact to the head.

He will be fine, the Port players head did not hit the ground, and Buddy's arm protected him on the way down. Saying that 4 weeks:D

I've heard a lot of anti-Gerard comments over the past month or so and honestly think he is a very good commentator.

His rant on Buddy not playing next week however reeked of bitterness however.

Misleading thread... was he reported? I think not.

I'm pretty sure I heard the umpire say he has been reported.

Not this shit again. Since there is a game on tomorrow, do we have to wait til Tuesday to find out??

Yes he was reported.

Still, I hated Gerard Healy's commentary on the tackle accompanied by 5 or so replays of it with Healy banging on about how Buddy should miss weeks, bloody muppet.

I got a feeling the Port doctor's evidence is gonna be crucial to whether Buddy cops a week or two. But personally, I believe he will be fine as the head didn't hit the ground.

But then again, this is Buddy and the tribunal we are talking about.

What concerns me is what is the effect IF he is reported.

The AFL have killed the bump, that could kill the tackle.

Gerard Healy is a disgrace. He should keep his f%$#*g opinion to himself when commentating games. He is not Judge Dredd. He is not the law. Shut your mouth and keep your opinions to yourself dickhead!

Healy is just anti-hawthorn. He mentioned that Cyril doesn't get to enough contests, well he had 13 tackles, so he must get to a few. Just cause he doesn't chase kicks, like some so called "elite" mid-fielders.

But I guess any anti - hawthorn comment annoys me, unless it comes from one of our own.

Would only miss 1 game with an early plea if he was cited. Level 1 rough conduct charge is only 125 points. Even with all his previous suspensions and carry over points from the Maverick Weller bump it would be 2 games if unsuccessfully contested, 1 if he takes the early plea.

Haha this!

Buddy had plenty of time to let go and chose to go through with the action and sling the Port player into the turf.
This is how the MRP will see it. That and the fact he is Buddy will see him cop two weeks if hes lucky.

Has anyone ever been reported for striking Buddy? Ever? There was constant niggle from Port players today that the umpires were to useless to stop and he gets reported. Buddy copped a hit in the second by some cowardly dog after he got rid of the ball and was being held by an opponent, he went down but they didn't replay it to show if he got hit in the head.
