Huss, Whats happening with these database errors? Should we expect to see these for the next couple of days or so?

nope, just taking a snapshot. always do it a few days after an upgrade to get the various backup db servers in sync with the upgraded main.

Ok. Thanks for you fast reply :)

I am having the problem that my post display options aren't saved. I change it to "display threads from the past month" and when I return to the board it is back to view threads from the last day.

Constant logging out. Seems to be random. Dont know if you guys are still changing things though.
I'm having the same problem as Otaku.Nothing seems to work, however.

I am using IE 6.0.

I have read a lot of "random logging out" problems, but whenever I need to post I will go through this process:

1. I am asked to log in when I click the 'post reply' button.
2. I am then re-directed to a page asking me to log in.
3. I can then type my post.
4. After i click 'submit reply', I am then taken to a page asking me to log in.

So I have to log in 3 times for every post I make.

And yes, I click the 'remember me' checkbox every time.

Ive been getting more database errors today so i don't think they are fixing the problem. I realise it's not directly your fault but i've never been on a website/forum(ones that dont charge to be a member too) that has so many outages.

Something is not right. The system is not running stable.

The database errors are getting worse not better ...I have been getting them all morning ..before i paid my membership i hardly had any ....I thought the promise was the other way around

Edit:

I just tried to send this message and got more database errors. I hit the back button and here i am....wonder if this message will make it when i try again....

I'm praying for this message to be delivered. Oh enlightened one, provide a path for this message to find its way. Lead us not to database errors, but to the almighty:rolleyes: Big Footy boards. Lord, if you can't provide a path, what hopoe to those geeks running the site in the US have. If you allow this message through i will believe in you and carry on the work left undone by so many of your disciples who are in jail for kiddy fiddling, otherwise you are a fake and a hack!!!!!!!

praise the Lord.....It's a miracle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The database errors are different to the 'sever too busy' messages. I have had the same problem with database errors today - it's not something your subscription can save you from. I also had the 'server too busy' message - but logged in, and it fixed the problem. That is what you paid for with your subscription and it appears to be working.

One other person has reported this and the only fix we could find was here:

http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

A professional website needs to work on multiple platforms, particularly the most common one going around.

The problems have been going on a while now... Is the problem still being investigated at this point, or is everyone expected to switch browsers to cater for the site?

This site works on multiple user agents. Particulary IE. However some users cannot get it to work on IE on their systems. Whether it is because they need to reinstall or some arcane combination of Microsoft bugs I do not know. For those few people who cannot stay logged in between pages I suggest Firefox... or even Opera.

No, you don't need to change browsers but at the moment that is the only thing that we know for sure fixes some people's problems.

Remember IE6 is about five years old now with numerous patches and hacks and fixes, while the others are relatively newer. They have their own bugs, but nothing that really affects the use of BigFooty.
