31 Collard
52 Batsanis
77 Warren

would be stoked with the first selection, dont know alot about batsanis but he is small. Really hope we dont redraft warren

having a read of that it looks like there could be plenty of midfiled talent available with our late pics

Collard - Yes
Batsanis - Yes
Warren - God no

Thats my opinion.
I think Warren's fate is being decided as we speak. Rumble is younger and essentially plays the same key defensive position (although Warren can pinch-hit in the ruck apparently). If Rumble is showing more than Warren on the training track right now, I feel that we may rookie him and pass on Warren.

It probably wouldn't be a bad result if we could nab a talented midfielder with our last pick.

I don't think Proud will slip to our pick, or even past the first round. He will go early.

I am really disappointed that Warren did not come on. We do need someone who can be a plausible ruckman if needed, but is mainly a KPP. But this year Gimore did as well in the ruck, and Polak did better.

I would be stoked to get Collard with our first pick. Strong wafl form would see him play a handful of afl games next year.

Hopefully we take Moss if he is available with our second selection.

Pass on Warren.

I'd rather they take Hart or that brownlow guy than Warren. We'd only get a year or 2 out of them, they would probably see more game time than Warren and more useful in a run at the flag.

Collard would be a really great pickup.

The others are so-so. I can understand the philosophy in re-drafting Warren.

I thought it strange that we would go for Batsanis over Moss. Both very small (Batsanis smaller), but I would think there is little between them, and Moss a local guy. Mind you, i don't think we should go for locals ahead of non-locals if there is a significant difference. Also interesting that Burgan writes that Moss's small stature has pushed him down the order, yet he has us taking Batsanis who is slightly shorter a couple of picks earlier.

Oi!
The word is short...Not small.
Lets not get abusive here..;)

i was just having a look at our list and I knew we were light on for young midfielders but i didnt realise that we only have ONE under 21 and that is Ibbotson. schammer, browne, crowley and peake are the only younger genuine midfielders we have

Add Dunn as a maybe to that list (given he may be played in the midfield), and it doesn't look all that bad. True, we don't have a heap of young midfield talent, but Crowley, Peake and Schammer are quality players and have the potential to improve.

Plus a couple of years of drafting and the odd young WA midfielder wishing to come back via trade week should complement our stocks sufficiently IMO.
