Neaves is too young to rookie list. He is eligible for another year at the U18 and if he doesn't get picked up in ND then he can't be picked up in any way before ND next year.McLeod23 said:Maybe Neaves would be an option, or DeVries, although I know nothing about him.
Stiffy, why would we go for a KPP with one of our first three picks? Has the club already decided to do that?
What if we take Wood with #8 and Eckerman is available at #24, and Jackson at #28 - I know I would want Jackson, even if Copping or Hartlett were available.
Because this draft is strong on KPP. Yes the club has decided to go with the strength of the draft. They would want to come away from this draft with a ruckman and a KPP along with a couple of midfielders. I would take Eckermann and Hartlett over Eckermann and Jackson any day.
Good KPP don't come around that often while midfielders do. You have to realise that drafting strategy is not only what is available in this draft but also what is available in next year's draft. This draft is strong on talls. Next year's draft will not be as strong as it is this year. So we will pick up a ruckman and KPP this year and stock up on midfielders next year.
Wood + Eckermann + Hartlett >>> Wood + Eckermann + Jackson
Ruckman > KPP > Midfielder = golden rule of successful recruiting.
