Its a guess I know but somehow think Hatlett won't go to us - certainly not at 28.
He was available last year - was hyped up, we needed KPP, and we overlooked him. Don't think on that basis we will take him
You are probably right. I am hoping for Grundy or Gibson but I reckon both will be gone by then.

What are the chances of Matthew Bate slipping to 24 :o

Bate being high profile Victorian IMoO won't last to our pick, may get to second round, but not us. :(

Big wraps on Gibson - comparing him in style to Johnathon Brown.
Grundy widely tipped first round certainty, so would be happy with either.

But at 24 it will have to be either Eckermann (or another midfielder) or the KPP.

I would gamble on the midfielder at 24, and best available KPP at 28, which again IMO wont be Gibson or Grundy

I don't think AFC will have a real preference in terms of type of player they pick up with 24 and 28. I think their types are ruckman, KPP and a midfielder with first 3 picks. The order is irrelevant. If by some silly chance Griffen slip to 8 we would snap him up quick smart. In the words of James Fantasia, if would be "pants down and lap around the table" scenario :D

I think they will just take the best available player @ 24 regardless if he is a KPP or a midfielder. And @ 28 pick the type of player that you haven't picked in the first 2 picks. If you know what I mean ;)

You stated earlier the AFC was after Ruckmen and midfielders, and that the AFC don't play silly buggars.

Now we apparently have changed our tune (and rightfully so) and included KPP.

I still think their preference is ruckman, midfielder, so I think they will be looking for a midfielder at 24.

As I said after the top 10, clubs will choose on basis of need.

I think its either going to be a KPP or a midfielder. If KPP is considered to be a better prospect than a particular midfielder then we will go with the KPP.

I don't think our group of players we think will be @ 24 are much different to our group @ 28.

Its only 3 picks between the 2 selections so i doubt we would go for a particular type believeing that he won't be available @ 28. Unless of course he is a slider ;)

Stiffy do you think Griffen may be picked up at 56, or maybe another midfielder.

BTW apparently Adelaide got a please explain from the AFL over Griffen.

Players in the National Draft are not allowed to train with AFL clubs unless it has been cleared first.

The AFC is argueing that a 10 minute kick to kick :p does not constitute a training session ;)

I think we are very unlikely to pick anyone up with pick 56 especially not Griffin ;)

I hear about the please explain. I was under the impression we asked for clearence and got it. It was only a testing session and he was away from home for only 24 hours. The lad didn't go to the draft camp or any of the state screening session so we wanted to put him through the paces and see what he is like.

I would be amazed if we didn't ask for permission. Even I knew that players can't train with an AFL team before ND.

How do we explain the fact he was wearing Crows training gear?

A closet Crow supporter who just happened to turn up to watch his team, like hundreds of other kids ;)
