). But the PS2 has been designed in such a way that installing a chip will disable the DVD player, so effectively you lose the option of playing DVD's on it. You can only install a chip safely onto the japanese version of the PS2.
From what i have read about ps2 chips, you can buy one that is external to the machine i.e. it plugs into the USB port at the front so the actual console will still have full functionality, and you can't void your warranty on the machine.Originally posted by daddy_4_eyes
