AOL the orange people will not sponsor North Melbourne next year they will sponsor Essendon. No players have been paid with the exception of the coach who interestingly signed up for another 2 years this week and wayne carey is also being paid.

The other north players are considering legal action against the club. Could this be the reason why their last 4 weeks have been absolute shit?!?!

IF another club (I do not support this rumour) ever goes under, it will happen a lot quicker than Fitzroy because of the huge turnover of money these days.

Some people will believe anything! Interesting that North's auditors didn't pick up on th 9 mill debt!Boy they must be incompetent,and to think they gave North a good report!! Orange announced a couple of weeks ago that they would become Essendon's major sponsor.North already have a major sponsor for next year. All players have been paid,the club's long term future is guaranteed so try again Dim Bleeper!

This rumour is a load of rubbish. A recent Age report had access to North's audited accounts and rated them above St Kilda and the Western Bulldogs in terms of financial viability. $9 million indeed! Even Fitzroy was only $4 million in debt. If North was that far in debt their creditors would have been lining up at the door long before this and it would be already be in the media.

By the way that article Roylion was referring to was in the Age about 3-4 weeks ago and compared the financial viability of all Vic clubs. North came out of it ok and would have been ahead of Melbourne too but for Joe's money.

Rumour is that North has accepted a new sponsorship.

From now on they will be known as the Avonwood Homes Kangaroos.

This is after a brief flirtation with the name Pyramid Building Society Kangaroos.

They even contemplated being known as the Estate Mortgages Kangaroos or the State Bank Kangaroos.

It doesnt matter what they call themselves, their fate is the same as these erstwhile esteemed formerly fiancially viable coroporate entities.

A family member of mine works for one of the very large banks. She knows for a fact how much North are in debt, its under 4 million, but in the millions.All cheques bought in to their branch can't be paid, they need higher authorization.Even these lately have been not paid.
This is a shame.She said some of the players are furious, can't say I blame them really. Playing your guts out and not getitng paid. That's not fair on anyone.
