His lack of talent is catching up with him. Hard work can only get you so far (and will get you a long way on a clay) but you need talent to be the best. Don't be suprised to see him slip the same way Hewitt did.

Comparing Nadal to Hewitt is akin to comparing Federer to Henman. And why does clay suddenly require less talent than any other surface? Did Sampras just not work hard enough? What about Federer? What an ignorant comment.

It is fun to goad TP about nadal's failings at the top level but let's not forget he is still a very good - not great only very good - player.

Away from the clay Djokovic is now clearly the biggest threat to Federer given Nadal's consistent inability to reach finals in non clay tournaments ( Nole's injury gifted Nadal a Wimbledon final spot otherwise it would not have happened). Had he been fit enough to continue to what would have been victory in the Wimbledon semi he would have been a menace to Roger and remains a potential menace to anyone at Flushing Meadows.Nadal's defeat comes as no surprise to anyone.

how many non clay finals (slams and masters series) have nole been to this year? 2. How many non clay finals have rafa been to this year 2. Keep digging  .FFS look at the champions race points, fed is only 100 points ahead of rafa this year, which is NOTHING really. You are a deadset clown GT, hatred is one thing but you reckon rafa fails at top level??? whats top level for you???? reaching 2 slam finals in a year is not top level???? lets face it federer is way ahead of everyone at the moment, leaving fed out.. RAFA is world number 2 by a long shot, whether you like it or not. Nole has a long way to go in terms of consistency before we can claim that he is a threat to the number 2 spot. FFS you need to get a clue.

Also keep believing that injuries let nadal reach finals and rafa only won the f.o cause fed was crap and had groin injuries. If i can play a violin i would, but i doubt that would have an effect on you . Dont let the facts get in the way of your one eyed hatred towards nadal though.
