Got the DVD for my 21st and must have watched it at least 5-6 games. All I can do to get away from the on field attrocities recently :/

I was India in 99'. I had been travelling by train during the day and wound up, I think, in Allahabad. First thing I did after checking into a hotel was to track down an internet cafe, all of 2 computers of it.

I sat there painfully waiting for the slow connection to load up final score page. Finally it revealed the scores and being 98 vs 99, I was momentarily confused. Suddenly the result dawned on me. Must have been around 11pm with this Indian guy watching me carry on like a twat in his tiny computer room, but he was the only guy I had to share the moment with.

even as a collingwood supporter that game seemed exciting i remebr my old man ravving about it afterwards saying how good it was to see essendon lose after being up by (5 goals?) and looking like winners all day.

I remember sitting at home here in Tassie watching the game..my emotions ebbed and flowed with the scoreline...then when Mercuri missed whilst running into an open goal with only minutes remaining, the pressure got to me ...I got up and said to my missus " I can't watch this !@!" I then went outside to do some gardening ...a couple of minutes later my wife came out and said ..."you can go and watch the video now ..it's over ". I could tell by her expression that we hadn't lost so i went and watched the last couple of minutes ..before jumping around my lounge room like a lunatic .

Ahhh great memories

The game is available on DVD in the Carlton Shop, and when I went in last year to buy some baby gear they had it running on the T.V. in store.

I asked the girl behind the counter how many times she had seen it. She didn't answert but just turned to the screen and proceeded to predict the following few passages of play.......down to each handpass, shepheard and with commentary............

Not only the best game ive been to, but also 1 of the happiest days of my life. Funny seeing grown men from both teams in tears and the funniest part would have to be the 2 scum essendon supporters outside gate 6 after the game bawling their eyes out whilst trying to sing the kangaroos song. He did his bit ....Fletcher and Nelson were probably our quietest two players on the day ...but even they contributed . In such a knife edge situation even the slightest one percenter is magnified ten times .
