So unless we are crediting mick as being solely responsible for our premiership success and discounting the contribution of our assistants, which included buckley, then yeah the succession plan helped deliver the 2010 flag

Fly has definitely brought that winners mentality with him from his success as a player with Lethal.
He was a "my way or the highway type bloke" but he had the ability to get everyone on his way. Some couldn't handle him and they paid the price. This is stuff I was told by ex players who I played with. We really did hit the jackpot when we got him probably the only bloke who could've helped break our drought

I think the rumours of off field shenanigans destabilised his ability to remain at Collingwood after 1990/1991. Truth to the matter is a different thing but that’s a rumour that apparently contributed to his allegiance with the Club.
