Can’t justify a new thread - still want to post it though

This weekend the Notre Dame is reopened to the public. And don’t the pics look magnificent?
So many years of soot and grime have been removed from the parts of the structure that remained after the devastating fire of only five years ago.
I for one did not think it could be rebuilt, certainly not in the time frame they initially announced.
But the crazy barstards did it!
We visited back in 2015 and the place was dark and gloomy. Though full of magnificent artefacts and stunning architecture. I’m a non believer, but the place still moved me. From the pictures I see now the place is totally transformed.
My wife is also extremely proud as the spire was rebuilt in the city of her birth!

Was driving home from the South Coast of NSW today and stopped at Braidwood for a coffee (and to check out the local book fair). Waiting for my coffee on the outdoor deck and who walks past? Nathan Buckley! As a sheltered Canberra supporter not used to seeing my footballing heroes I just said "Bucks!" As he came up the outdoor seating and walked past my seat he said "G'day mate, how you going?" Made me realise how much of a Collingwood legend he is.

Ok, so I was there just after Xmas. The crowd and queue was vast.
Entry is free BUT you still have to reserve your entry with a “ticket” purchased online. Easy? Not.
Tickets are only released for the two coming days currently. Despite trying many times, no luck.
I think congestion is made worse as the sides and garden at the rear of ND are boarded off. So you can’t easily do a lap and admire it. Oh well. Just a reason to go back.

So.... AFL are pre-selling seating for the first 6 games next week on Tuesday at 2pm. Looked at my calendar and saw that I have a specialist appointment at 1.30 in the city. Panic!

Rang doctor's office up to change time and explained why.

Enough said, both the doctor and his office manager are Pie supporters, she was able to rearrange appointment.
