going by last nights game, no he looked a little lost

correct me if i'm wrong but did he also play in the middle the week before and struggled once again?

seems as though Mick is trying to eradicate the pace problem with didak although i dont think he is the man for the job

He can .

Needs a Pre season and needs to kick on his right Better.

then he can play midfield and push forward.

His confidence is shot as a person. I think he knows a lot more about Christopher Wayne Hudson than we're lead to believe. They could have been close friends for all we know. We can't afford to carry any passengers come the finals so he will struggle to hold his spot in the side.

The problem is his knee, not his head. He's in his first season back from an ACL, for crying out loud.

Keep him up forward and get goals let the mids stay there, why change it? Ive noticed leon pay in the midfield to a little. I dont see why though relly we have plenty of people who can play there leave the freak shows do there thing in the forward line.

A didak or leon goal can change the wave of the game.

Are you kidding? Didak is possibly the best kick on his opposite at the club! Close to it anyway. He just needs to get back to 2006 form, which will come with a preseason and more time from the knee. Didak showed last year he can be an excellent midfielder. He was given roles in the midfield against Geelong, Brisbane, Hawthorn and maybe a couple more. He is very effective due to his pace and very accurate disposal. Although both have been severely affected by the knee.

Yeah, that would probably be fought out between Bucks and Brad Dick, IMHO.

Dick has sublime skills. Though I think its a little too early to be saying that. I can't speak for his Williamstown matches because I've only seen a couple, but he hasn't had enough of it at AFL level to properly judge his kicking with his opposite. Didak kicks loads of goals with his right, doesn't hesistate to use his and right and usually hits a target just as easy as on his left. Obviously the 2007 Didak is a shell of the 2006 Didak, but if you remember his skills last year, I rate them 2nd only to Bucks.

But yes, Dick will most likely be up there very soon. :thumbsu:

His kicking is obviously effected by this, usually when Didak has it within 60 it's either going to be a goal or he's going to hit someone on the chest with a great pass, but not this year.

I agree 100%......unfortunately

Didak can and will be effective in the midfield, when he first came we spent a lot of time building up the tank for him to play there, the injury has unfortunatly meant this needs to start again, and you can not judge his midfield ability on current form as currently he is struggling everywhere. Has the tools to play there is an awesome player and will be again give it time

well i must be missing something or ur bias.

from what ive seen he is average at best.
like he can hit a target but sometimes he is just a little slow to kick on his right.
but who cares. he rly cant play midfield next year he could its too late in season to be stuffing him around.

To give you a couple of examples from 2006:

Dids kicked a couple of excellent goals on his right, one against Sydney and one against the Bulldogs, both on very tight angles.

The best example I can think of though, is from the Carlton match last year (later in the year). In the third quarter, Dids is streaming down the wing, sees Lonie (closely followed by his opponent) closer to the boundary line about 60m out from goal. Dids drills a 40m pass on his right foot to Lonie, which hits him lace-out without him having to break stride, allowing him to run onto 50 and kick a vintage Lonie goal. Had the kick been slightly off Lonie would have been forced to turn back as his opponent would have been on top of him. While this is only one example, Didak's use of the right foot is fantastic. If someone said "who is the best kick with their opposite at Collingwood?" I would immediately say Buckley, followed by Didak.

IMO the form of Didak is due to a combination of a few things. As has been said his knee reconstruction recovery can take a while before 100%, the confidence that he has lacked in his knee and also the attention and pressure of the incident.

Didak is worth persisting with though as even not at 100% he adds something to our midfield. Even when playing poorly he is likely to pop up at just the right time to do something spectacular.

He will come back next season even better for whats happened this year I think.

When he is fit he definately can he is nowhere near 100% fit now, his lack of pace is very apparent. If you see what he did in the middle last year it shows how valuable he can be as a mid, question is where is he most valuable to the team as a mid or a forward - I think this depends on match ups & forward line structure.
