A realistic view for the rest of the year. We are 4 wins and 5 losses with a very healthy percentage. I would say 12 wins and a healthy percentage would guarantee a spot. That means another 8 wins for the year, whilst keeping the losses to small margins.

Here we go round by round and will be conservative, using past form against clubs.

Round 10 St Kilda Loss
Round 11 Fremantle Win
Round 12 GWS Win
Round 13 BYE Well deserved rest
Round 14 Adelaide Loss
Round 15 Melbourne Win
Round 16 Gold Coast Win
Round 17 North Win
Round 18 Carlton Loss
Round 19 Brisbane Win
Round 20 W Bulldogs Loss
Round 21 Fremantle Loss
Round 22 Essendon Loss
Round 23 Port Adelaide Win

That's 7 should wins, which would put us on 11 wins for the season. We really have to win one of the clutch games against WB, Carlton or Essendon. Sods law we lose one of those "winnable" games. Lots of games at the G (incl North, WB and Port) Brisbane, GC and Freo away.

Discuss.

The flaw in your theory is 'past form' this is a new Richmond!
Maric & our midfield is as good as any in the league atm.
Yesterday will give us belief I bet the boys will expect to win every game they play now.
Beat the saints this week which i think we will & the sky is the limit!

Shit it is going to be loud under the roof this friday night.Bring it!:thumbsu:

Well you cannot pencil in a loss against the Bulldogs.

The way we are playing at the moment there aren't really any teams that we don't have a chance against.

I'd be reserving a seat this week. A sellout (or near enough) is on the cards.

Regarding OP, I think injuries will play a bigger part in our chances of making the finals more so than our opposition. A good run with injuries and we make the 8. It's as simple as that to me.

Pretty simple.
If we were to maintain the form we are in we will make it with a leg in the air.
The more realistic scenario sees is having a lapse at some point and it will be touch and go.
Certainly good enough.

What makes you think we can't beat the dogs and the saints?, we're a much better team than last year and past records don't count imo..we are in with a big shot of beating them both.

I like the analysis

Even if we drop one we should win (and I note if going off previous form I would be worried about Gold Coast up north and our history against sides first year teams).

I would be disappointed, give current form and effort, if we don't win at least 2-3 of the Loss games. StKilda, Dogs, and at least one of Adelaide, Carlton and Bombers.

It is a long year though and sustaining this level will be the challenge. But that is what good sides do and this year and future years you are going to need to be a good side to make the 8. Therefore even with a draw that does not favor us re times we play the new sides, the opportunity for the 8 is there for us if we are good enough and how nice is it to be in that position.
