hehe.... SHE certainly feels it :D

On a more serious note Godfrey, I read your post late last night before going in to work (shift worker)
I had to copy/paste it and print out a mini poster for next to my workplace.... really created a lot of comments. haha
It's exactly how I was thinking (as most of your posts are)

My only concern with this games that we have a very young side and Adelaide have the harder stronger bodies.Remember this will be a bone crunching game, loser is eliminated.
.
If the pies win,we will have a sorry and sore bunch of players next week.
Also, finals is a very different ball game. The kids have to learn very quickly, will be very very high intensity.
Pies by 1 point. I hope, otherwise Adelaide may just sneak in,with home ground advantage.

Coming off a major loss

Many of our senior and best players sidelined

Half our team are 21 and under

Elimination final

Everybody writing us off...

What more could you ask for???!!!!

more to the point, why was I dreaming of a Magpies win.
Cause that is the more likely or at least more fancied of the outocmes:p

Very much agree with what everyone has to say on the Mighty Pies this weekend. Unfortunately Scotty Burns hasn't come up for it. But im sensing a little bit of 2002 Qualifying Final against Port over there.

We went in as underdogs and without our captain at the time. Yes a completely different line up to 2002...but history has a way of repeating itself.

We have a great record against Adelaide teams - both in finals and in Adelaide. Having to play them "over there" poses no fears whatsoever. My fear is whether we can win enough clearances without Burnsy. He is a huge loss. O'Bree is going to have to play out of his skin (and not kick the ball) and Pendles and Davis will be forced to spend more time in the thick of it, which will rob us of some of their pin-point passes into the forward line. I'm praying Pendles isn't a late withdrawal. We'll need the likes of Lockyer, Rhyce and Marty Clarke to step up and beat their more fancied opponents.

As a side note, why are we so good as underdogs and so dreadful as favourites? Consider some of our losses this year - Blues (x2), Dons, Kangas (x2), Freo and Lions - that's seven games that we lost when starting as favourite. Win even half of them and we would have cruised into the top 4. Really good sides don't lose those types of matches. Something not quite right when we can only get ourselves up mentally for a "backs to the wall" contest.
