After this year, I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if Junior got the nod, if only to serve time until Brock is ready.

Pretty high praise for junior. I'm sure those inside the club would know who the better candidates are, so I'd be happy for junior to take it until Brock is ready. I wouldn't be too happy if Brock got it next year, he's still got a bit of learning to do first.

If Brocky had had as good a year as he/we expected he would probably be in the prime position, but I'm inclined to agree Redlegs - he's underdone at the mo.

me too. Needs to be one and one VC, then have a big leadership group if you really want lots of role models. Current system is fine.

What leadership from all the midfielders tonight, Macca especially but Brock, Jones, Johnstone and Green all battled it out getting only short periods of rest.

McDonald was great tonight. He plays with so much passion. I really would like to see him have the captaincy next year, even if it is for just one season. Like when Lyon gave it up and Viney took over. I don't think we have any other suitable candidates except for McDonald. McLean needs another good season under his belt. Green and Bruce are too inconsistant.

My vote goes to Green. Usually a better decision maker than Junior (except his centering kick in the Pies forwardline tonight ) and much better skills.

Would Junior even be comfortable in that role? I don't think I 've ever seen or heard him in the media (except after matches). Green is probably comfortable in that respect, but Junior would make more sense on-field.
That said I still want Brock as captain.
