Yes, after Maxwell was one of our best players when things went Geelongs way, and even though he was playing with a broken knuckle (on top of his already broken finger), let's ditch him and give the captaincy to someone else!

After all, it's not like he did anything good in last year's Grand Finals either. No match winning spoils and diving saves at all.

Proven spud when it counts imo.

At least one more year for maxy. Hd looked the supporters in the eye today and said we'll be back. Pendles purposely moved to the back so he wouldn't have yo talk. He will be captain but not next year.
 
Maxy will be captain in 2012, nothing more is certain.:)

He has a great leadership group behind him, and this is how it will stay.

I'd like to see some of the young blokes promoted to a leadership role, Steele "big game" Sidebottom comes to mind.:)

I guess it could be considered not unusual for Maxwell to still be apart of the leadership group, but instead of captain, he could possibly concentrate on congealing the back-line together as a closer unit.

Maxwell is a huge reason Collingwood are the team they are.. Maxy doesn't have the skills of nearly any other AFL captain but I sure as hell know none of them come close to the commitment, passion and leadership he brings to a football club!

Any talk of replacing Maxy is utter shite! I'm sick and tired of people using him as a scapegoat for Collingwood performances..
 
I'd seriously doubt anyones calling for his head. But a new coach and a new captain could be a nice fresh start to a new 2012 campaign I'd think.
 
No, save it for a few years. Pendles will be cherry ripe for the captaincy in about 2013 or so.

Give Maxwell a chance to redeem himself, he was barely fit the whole year and was not able to get any continuity in his football. When he's playing with confidence and assuredness our defensive structures hold up so much better.

Then pendlebury, cloke And thomas

Not a fan of changing the captaincy unless the captain is under enormous pressure with the title (Sam Mitchell) or the captain decides to give it off.

If you revoke the title off Maxwell and give it to Pendlebury, what would that do to Maxwell? I doubt we'd see him play well at all next year due to the backlash.
 
I think Maxy is definitly our best Captain along with Luke Ball. He does have his really good moments - but for the majority of games/season he makes error after error. i dont remember the last time when under pressure he kicked a drop punt to a team mate(always mongrel/torpedo punts straight down the oppositions throat).

You cant knock his endeavour or leadership skills however is that enough to be the Captain and in the first 22 of our great club?? I say No!!

There are younger and better versions being groomed in VFL team that we should start looking at i.e. Goldy (more regularly) Young.
