Not a bad option considering there is only junk around!!

Promote Jamison and add 2 nominated Rookies!!

Thoughts???

I think a guy Like Jarred B.. or Kepler B, M Hahn, Kane T etc would all be worth picking up.

Kepler is interesting as we all acknowledge big guys take longer to develop and he is a massive unit so I would think given he just won a VFL B & F he is worth a punt.

if BRennan is not there at pick 2 then i say lets bypass it and give Jamison a spot on the list rather than as a nominated rookie.

COusins on the other hand would be handy but i doubt any club would be willing to pick him up!!

Hahn over Tenace any day of the week. Hahn, Judd, Hadley, Stevens and Carrazzo we'd have some real midfield grunt and hardness which we've been lacking for too long

I'm not a fan of him either. Never have been.

Chasing Tenace would be a better option imo.

completely disagree sorry.. Hahn would be a great pick up for free if he were available.. Tenace on the other hand I wouldn't bother with.

I like this attitude. There is no need for us to pick up players for the sake of it. We have plenty of developing quality on our list now, and unless someone outstanding becomes available at pick #2 (highly unlikely), I think we should just focus on recruiting a younger player that slipped through the draft. We got Eddie Betts that way, and he is fast becoming a success story, wheras the PSD player we originally wanted, Knobel, has been delisted. :)

Naa, I'd rather free up the spot for Jamison than pick up any of those.

Realistically, they are just gap fillers like the rest of the hacks we have picked up via PSD (excluding stevens)

Assuming we have cap space and is the reason why we are going to pick someone I can't see why they wouldn't re-jig Stevens contract to 'front load' it like Judd just not as much.

How long does Stevens have on his contract?

Hahn has a bit more class than those we have added in the past, and will add some futher experience and muscle to our young midfield.....esp. if he comes free in the PSD.

Can't Jamison play as a nominated rookie anyway?

The interesting thing about the list of PSD players, is that the "definites" are generally duds, whereas several of the "possibles" would be good pick-ups. The "PSD Threat" is a routine bargining tool used at this time of the year e.g. Brennan. With a basket case Club like the Tiges threatening to take anyone who falls into the PSD, this would be a massive disincentive though, and I'm sure most of these possibles will cave in to their Clubs offer. :)

Consider bypassing PSD? I doubt it. This is some sort of ploy to make sure Ninthmond commit to a player before we announce a big signing ;)

Have you noticed the extent to which players try to avoid the Tiges. The Players Miller was after - Judd (Judd despises Richmond and Miller), King (got the Cats to trade him with 90 to avoid the Tiges), Blake (decided to re-sign), Jolly (decided to re-sign), Hooper (decided to re-sign), Wood (to the Pies, even though Tiges had the picks). And now Brennan has publically said he wants to go to the Dons if he ends up in the PSD. The Richmond Football Club is viewed as a career death sentence, that very few can escape from. :)

But we don't have room in the salary cap space because we signed Judd to a million dollar contract. ;)

I still think we've got a card up our sleeve and we will sign another player once Richmond commit to taking a player at one.

Richmond will draft some muppet who played well against them or is outside.

The more I think about it, Hahn would be a great get and give us another big bodied mid or HFF as part of the midfield rotation.

We would have one of the deepest mids in the AFL.

And we wouldn't see much of Wiggins or Bannister next year.

There will be more players lining up to join Carlton if we keep setting the benchmark like we've done under Pratt, Icke and Swann. :thumbsu:

But if he is promoted can't we get another rookie?

I'd much rather another rookie than the options from the PSD

The draft is pretty shallow this year.....rookie list is really a punt on a kid who can do a few things well, but has a great work ethic. Probably less chance than normal of finding a gem in the rough with your 4th rookie selection.

Granted I'm not really a fan of who has fallen in the PSD so far. Personally, Hahn is the only one I would look at if he gets there.

If nobody else falls through i hope we do bypass it. Why should we recruit another clubs rejects. Can't believe people mentioning blokes like Tenace. With all our promising mids coming through, why the hell would we want to recruit a bloke who cant even hit a target? Brennan's the only bloke atm who i want, and i reckon he'll resign anyways. or if he doesn't, tigers will get him. Unless anybody else falls, lets just promote jamison

Totally agree. I also think Jamison has shown enough to be promoted. No need to stuff around. :)

Maybe the breadth of your knowledge of domestic under 18 football has put blinkers on you to an extent.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was another young Irish or even South African boy on his way to our rookie list this year...

I guess Kane Johnson, Nathan Brown and Troy Simmonds would view things a bit differently. Who cares anyway, Richmond will be basket case for a long long time.
