The couch tonight picked a top 4 midfielders:

Brown:
Gawn, Mitchell, Martin, Oliver

Reiwoldt:
Gawn, Mitchell, Martin, Higgins

Roos: (the smartest one there)
Gawn, Mitchell, Cripps, Higgins

Lyon: (dumbest guy there)
Gawn, Cunnington, Oliver, Martin

Reiwoldt ripped into Cripps suggesting you can’t pick him if his team has won two games. Muppet. He even stated that someone had to win the footy when you’re shit.

I reckon Cripps would have outmarked reiwoldt all day. Jealous of his stature in the game I reckon.

Plugger won a Coleman playing for the saints when they won a wooden spoon I'm pretty sure. Would he apply the same philosophy in naming the greatest forwards of all time ?
I thought better of Reiwoldt but that was a silly statement by him re Cripps

Did anyone catch Talking Footy, if I heard right nearing the end, McClure was mentioning someone was almost across the line with Carlton a couple years ago (GCFC & maybe Lynch?)?
The were suggesting we were close to getting May in MM's last year.

Yep, but that became CC, won that one in the end.

I love what SOS is doing but if rumours are to be believed we dodged some bullets!

Curnow > Tomlinson
Apparently we had Carlisle locked up until late...who would have cost a fair bit at the trade table.
Prestia been good for Tiges, but still having injury issues and probably would have more if with us.

Blessings in disguise that we missed out on them.

Dodging may have been of our own accord eg Carlisle and the cost was too much. Nothing wrong with dabbling until we’ve hit our bidding limit.

Devon Smith (Paul Ahern) would be handy however but medical pro’s seem to be with other clubs.

Yes based on his output this year Devon Smith would have been very nice...we were right in it though and he prob just chose Essendon since they were in finals contention. Not much SOS could do there.

Good on Ahern but i don't think any of us were that interested in him given his ACL injury...can't win em all anyway we won over Marchbank, Kennedy and Pickett.

They weren’t after losing to us :)

Ahern for what he cost in the end would have been worth the punt. Pick in the late 60’s, tick to North for that.

2E was great when talking about our game on Game Day.

Starts around the 25:30 mark of the video.

I miss Zach. His move to Geelong is the only black mark I have againat SOS’ name. Generally agree with his post-season work, but 2E is a big loss and is right in the age bracket we are crying our for.

That said, I’m confident every other possibility was explored to get the required picks to GWS for Marchbank.

This is correct. Definitely into May hard that year and thought we had him, but not to be.

What's interesting though, is whether we would have taken Weitering the following year had May been on the books. Probably, I guess.

Pretty sure I heard damo on FC mention that Gold Coast will be provided a PP and as a result we will as well

Headquarters believe that GC need all the help they can get and I suppose we benefit for simply finishing behind them

Yep, both GCFC & us looking likely for PP’s end of 1st round.

Plus Lynch compo (#3) plus mentioned May & Swallow as further trade chips if pressed & not committed past 2019 (contracted but interest from outside and possible desire individually to leave).
