It's disgusting. Why did the cheer squad report it? Did Adam hear it? The absolute minority that say stupid s**t like this shouldn't be reported on imo.

I mean, why amplify it? It's clear they are uneducated. Always found it strange. One person out of 50k says some dumb s**t. We all know it's wrong.

The good news is it's very rare these days.

As the old saying goes, "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

Now apply to the suggestion that the cheer squad shouldn’t have reported Adam Saad being racially abused. If no one reported it, then the woman who racially abused Adam would just be free to keep going to the football and now she thinks she can get away with racially abusing another player. It’s been called out, the Crows have her details and they will ban her from attending another game if she’s a member.

Absolutely needed to be reported but I do wish there was a way it could be done without Adam needing to be made aware of it. Publicly he seems to have taken it in his stride but I can't imagine how much it must hurt.

But yes, obviously needs to be called out.

I think some guys take it differently. Probably goes without saying, but it could be why he's been mellow about it.

I was chatting to a guy filling in for me at indoor cricket and he was telling me about a game from the night before where he was hitting this guy easily and it was really pissing him off and he started having a go at him saying all sorts of racist things and he just laughed at him for acting like a goof.

It kind of took me back a bit how he just said it so casually, essentially "oh he was being really racist to me hahah but I don't care it he was just being an idiot"

Probably happens like this in a lot more cases than we hear about. Just because we only hear about it once every few weeks doesn't mean it isn't happening all the time in sports all over the country.

Oh I absolutely agree that it would be prevalent, we're still a very racist country overall. But that's a whole other thing.

I think the question of racism in Australia is a complex one, and there are probably other threads for that conversation. But I am still shocked by it. When Eddie Betts highlighted what he received, it was terrible. I was aghast that such abuse could bedirected to such a caring person. Likewise regarding Adam Saad. And irrespective of what's going on by those who direct such abuse (and there are many factors), it still is unacceptable. I have incredible admiration for Eddie, and Saad, and so many others who have received this, because they are such amazing positive role models.

That would be the SRP Board where it belongs & no place for it on our Board Rev.

Are we 'poor', 'arrogant', or 'still learning'?

It was certainly a very poor performance, our worst for the year.
And it's also easy to see how it could be called arrogant, given that against a much less fancied opponent, we made the selection choices we did, and then didn't come to play with the right hard work high pressure attitude necessary to win games of football.

Yeah, I know that... but other point I was making is that as a club we have been blessed with having many First Nations and people of many different cultures. I didn't always appreciate that when younger, but so many wonderful role models. CFC has helped shape my life, and it's not just the on-field greatness. Just love this club.

It's seems their emotive chips have been upgraded recently. I'm sure I saw a simulacrum of a smile on Weitering's face the other day. Almost looked genuine with no trace of the uncanny valley.

On SM-F926B using BigFooty.com mobile app

still waiting for the latest 2022 upgrade for Weitering, seems to be stuck in an older version and struggling to keep up

I saw someone once say it's amazing how often footballers say "obviously" in interviews and the like. I think H says it twice in his first 2 sentences of this interview.

Ever since it was pointed out to me I've noticed they say it all the time

I find it interesting that when asked if it's possible if Carlton were look past Adelaide a little bit. Harrys reply was not confident:

"That's a great question and a fair question as well Gerard... I'd say.. I'd say, no?"

Convinced me there H, no chance we took Adelaide lightly
