Expect him to explode next year -- finish off the rest of that puppy fat and get real serious.. we all forget how much he missed -- Bolton had started to play him he got hurt didn't get back -- then missed 2020 ..
This is an excellent interview and I really encourage people to have a listen. It is embarrassing what some people around here were saying about him previously - he sounds like a guy that loves his teammates, the club and us supporters. He gives real, genuine answers. While he doesn't go into detail, it's clear he left the hub last year for mental health reasons. You never really know what is going on in someone's life, even if they are in the public eye. Good on you Stocks!

He and kemp are the two guys on the current list that have huge upside -- this not can football and is hard as anyone going around -- I watch that hot on miocheck once a week for giggles

"Hartley has been pivotal in the Tigers’ emergence as a premiership powerhouse. He was list manager for a decade before assuming the role of general manager – football talent in a 2019 footy department re-structure that saw Tim Livingstone appointed general manager – football performance."

"North Melbourne and Carlton have both sounded out Hartley. Gold Coast would also be interested in securing his services but are aware he is entrenched with his family in Victoria."

Looks like a sounding out for Brad Lloyd replacement

Interesting that (some) other clubs are going with a different structure, 2 Football Heads rather than 1.

makes sense, can split it to micro/macro, or short/long term, or small/big picture or however you want to phrase it.

Hypothetically, could be Cook overseeing and getting things 'right' for the future, Hartley focusing more on day-to-day operations (and possibly transitions to cover both roles in a couple of years after Cook retires). Something like that.

I figure it's more Cook to replace Liddle and Hartley to replace Lloyd

Could be due to the soft cap, clubs cant employee multiple people for multiple roles.
So now looking at highly skilled jack of all trades to fill the void.

Football Talent would be the players, right? So it would seem to be giving more responsibility over that area to one person (like SOS' role before he was knifed), and taking that department away from what would be the single Head of Football, and making their job 'Performance'.

yeah that sounds more accurate.

More “experts” rubbishing our attempts to get the best candidates in the most important positions.
Tim giving the most reasoned response here - saying that we have set the benchmark and are seeking the best people to turn this club around. Garry pushing the angle that this is doing “untold damage” to the culture at the club, that we hung Teague out to dry and made him do the exit interviews when we’d already decided to sack him. Does he know this, or is he just allowed to say it like it’s fact? I believe Sayers’ comments that it was Teague’s decision to wait until the season ended to assess the findings of the review, and that timeline included exit interviews. Who else is going to evaluate the players but the coaches who oversaw the season?
I applaud Sayers and his work so far. I get that some feelings may be hurt, but staying with Teague, Liddle and Lloyd was never going to get us to where we want to be.

No one cares what Garry thinks..
What would he know about how a good club should operate..

Noticed a shift in Sellers last nite on 360.
Gerard and Nick R. started with the process at our club compared to Pies and instead of agreeing M.Mc. said we can do things differently...Nothing wrong with that. It's outcome that counts.
Both jerks backed off like nervous puppies. Papa dog had spoken.
Good!!! Keep it up Sellers.
A bit of swagger and fight is needed right now.

Maybe wrong - theres no quoting of Ross or a manager saying no. Idk clutching at straws a bit.
It depends. Is she going off his comments on air on FC - in which the hardest he went was that he's unlikely to put himself through a 45 day application process - or has he said something to her in private to make his position plain?

She doesn't extrapolate on facts; she takes the facts and interprets them in what direction she thinks will sell best. For her to begin that article with the unequivocal:
Ross Lyon will not coach Carlton. The former Fremantle and St Kilda coach contacted Blues chairman Luke Sayers early on Thursday to officially withdraw after the club appeared to significantly change the selection process.
... intimates that she knows something, something specific has tipped her off.

Things can change, so we'll see.

Yes, usually when she reports a breaking story they're spot on.
