It’s easy to say in hindsight, but what amazing messaging our club puts out to the fans and I can only imagine the players.
Cooky, Voss are so professional with their delivery of a message. There is no bullshit or fluff when you hear them speak. The players must just love this clarity and makes it so simple to stay on task.

You compare that with the muddled mixed output of years past and it is clear why we are on the up.

Well Murph said it wasn’t great messaging on the prendercast special they put out this week, makes me want to cry about 2 wasted years when we could have had Vossy

Don't think it would have made that great of a difference. The players needed to accept the situation and really want change. Not really sure they had that acceptance a couple of years ago.

As great as Voss, Hansen and Hamill are, the players would have to really want change and to really believe. It's obvious now that they are doing so. The players haven't dropped their heads at any stage during this injury crisis and said it is getting too hard, but I think the players had to hit rock bottom to develop the fortitude for this to happen.

Obviously, they would look to Voss for the guidance but much of it would have had to come from themselves.

Don't forget in the early stages of Teague we were playing great footy, massive comebacks. It was rather thrilling and Cripps and Co. were waxing lyrical about Teague. Then when things started getting shaky the players didn't have the fortitude to respond.

You can blame Teague, but I think much of what is happening now is a complete cultural shift, ie Cook and players themselves being honest about themselves.

I've heard that line coaches would regularly undermine Teague. Not a lot of respect there. Even when it wasn't overt, they'd half ass backing him up if they had a difference of opinion.

Whereas when Voss walks in a room and speaks, everyone shuts up and listens. "He's just got a presence that others don't" is what one player said to me. And also that Vossy is only the 2nd coach he's ever been scared of.

From the line coaches it would probably come down to how often can you tell your boss doing the same thing over and over will end up with the same result. Things were pretty promising in 2020. Beat the Dogs and the Cats and were generally competitive. Last year we just went backwards and what ever changes we made to the way we played made us less competitive. In the end no one seemed to have belief in what we were doing - just attack harder. You only had to go to the first practice match to see the difference.

I heard something similar from a new player (second hand) this year - said the players were a bit shocked at the way Voss commanded respect but also that he was hands off, delegating to the assistants.

Total opposite of Teague who couldn't delegate because he'd get undermined.

Was a great pod with murph on hey???
It’s a great pod every week actually [emoji106][emoji106]

Yeah was fantastic with Murph.

I like the Prendercast but some weeks they talk far too much shit.

One episode went for over 2 hours a couple back, there was more shit than substance. Don’t mind most of their banter but that episode almost made me want to turn off.

Agree - love when they talk football but have to scrub through a lot of the crap about 'bangers' and movies. I usually listen in the car and hammer the fast forward 15secs button on Spotify.

I'm almost ready to give it away - shame as I love their footy talk. Closest thing we have to Andy Maher's Carton Show.

IMO our list was not ready to take the next step anyway during the DT years. Wasted maybe, but I am pretty sure it didnt cost us any premiership action

I’m a bit the opposite.
I don’t mind the crap in between, maybe cos it’s smack bang on my genre.
Reckon Shaun sounds slightly in the spectrum at times, which is entertaining.

I gave up on it about 6 weeks into season. The footy talk is good but i couldnt hack the opening pre-amble and in-jokes which seem to just go on longer with each new episode.

I can’t handle anyone saying, “You know what I think? It’s something that I’ve been saying for a long time now and it might not be popular but I’m just going to come out and say it because it needs to be said. I’ll tell you what I think, I think…”

Just. Say. It.

Interesting discussion about how you curb Sam Walsh from a half forward flank on afl360 with joey and kingy.

Great coaching from Voss to get maximum impact from him so far but I expect that opposition teams will put more work into nullifying from here on in.

Discussion ended with Joey saying "the last 7 or 8 weejs Walsh has gone past Cripps as Carlton's best player", Robbo concurred and in the background you could hear kingy say "Charlie Curnow ".

If we have a miracle happen this year and we start to get continuity in the team with our best players on the park, or near as damn it, then I reckon they’re spot on.

Unfortunately, the injury gods have it in for us. Can’t see that miracle happening[emoji24]

If it happens it won’t be a miracle it will be maturing talent and coaching it all comes down to injury’s and available talent.
We are a huge chance of winning a grand final along with a few other teams

The miracle is getting the best players out of the injury room and onto the park and consistently playing close to best 22

We should have been in the finals in 2020.
We should have been top 4 last year. Maybe not winning the flag, but certainly in a position to challenge.
can someone design me a should temple? packed full of should worshippers? cheers........
