I agree that their level of exercise would assist them with their recovery if infected, but also think they're in an environment where they have higher exertion and therefore secretion of bodily fluids than other workplaces which significantly increases contagion risk.

Outdoor training, lower risk, indoor weights and cardio, higher risk. And no masks while exercising is reasonable, but increases the risk relative to the accountants at their desks wearing masks.

Actually myocarditis can be fatal in incidences of high levels of exercise if coupled with having to fight an infection.

I really hope all the "I don't need to vaccine its my risk nothing to do with you" aren't intending to go to hospital when something goes wrong.

Well he may have already had covid and not known it (heard of quite a few like this)
He should get an antibody test.

If he got it I'm assuming he would isolate at home and ride it out.
I doubt a brand new outbreak is going to come down to Liam Jones decision.
Considering Melbourne still has 1k+ daily cases many of whom are vaccinated.

Vaccines normally take 7 years minimum and usually 10+ years to go through all the safety checks.
I feel Jones was within his right to refuse considering he is towards the end of his career anyway.

Don't even bother arguing with the anti-vax people, they've got the collective IQ of a shoe. If it were up to me, the people choosing not to be vaccinated would be excluded from society (besides necessities) permanently. Society would only improve by locking out this group of illogical simpletons.

As for the Carlton player, more than happy for their contract to be torn up if they remain unvaccinated, no matter who it is.

IMO he should've just had the jab, but Jones was given one choice and that was to "do as we say" He chose not to take them up on it, there would've been nothing in his contract about any of it. It's an expensive decision, no matter which way you look at it.
