Who would be good realistic trades that carlton could pick up? ( Salopek, Polak etc )

And who should we get rid of? ( Fev?, Whittnall , Lappin who would be interested?)

And who should carlton be looking to pick up with pick 4 presumin we get purphy at 1

Salopek is most realistic and the cheapest. Others could cost us too much

Trade Lance, Lappin n Camp but keep Fev

Get Hurn or Ryder depending on whose left.

i think we should chase goddard, offer the saints lappin or houlihan plus a draft pick. Salopek would be a good pick up, but to go forward we must keep fev and red, as for pick 4 would be real happy with hurn

But you'll find Saints fans want everything + the kitchen sink for Goddard purely because he was a #1 pick.

Lappin + pick 20 was my initial offer, and it seems fairer than ever.

Lappin and pick 20 seems about right for Goddard, that seems like a win-win in my view.

What do you think pick 4 and Lance would get in return from Melb or WB?

Then compare what they would trade to Goddard and weight it up.

It would get Green and Bruce I would say. Not that they are the type of player we need but compared to Goddard it is not even close.

Pick 4 is Josh Kennedy/Pat Ryder/Shannon Hurn so please dont be trading it away.

Lappin is a very good fit for the Saints but they would only trade Goddard because of salary cap problems so getting Matty would not make sense as they would be on the same money.

Pick 20 is not enough for him, especially in this draft. I would say he is worth around a pick 10.

No thanks to Goddard, proven to be a very average player thus far. If we were to get him I would be concerned with where we play him and that we don't offer the Saints much to get him.

Salopek would be handy. Wouldn't offer much for him though. The PSD pick no.1 will be handy for us to hopefully snare a Michael, Grant, Bartel or L.Power.

Polak will cost too much I think, good player though and a genuine KPP.

We may only get 1-3 players from trades as our focus will be mostly on getting 5-7 kids in the draft and promoting Setanta and hopefully Jesse Smith off the rookie list. Add 1 PSD pick and that's already 8-10 players added without other trades so we might only do a couple. Hard to tell though.

Goddard has proved to be an average player for the Saints due to the class that he has around him. When your playing in a team with the likes of Ball, Dal Santo, Hayes etc then he will struggle to shine yet I believe at Carlton he could very good.

Agree with you bout Salopek and I too don't want to trade Pick 4

Don't want S.Grant in PSD --> costs too much and not worth it at 29 years old.

Don't know much about Drum but the draft usually after top 3 changes a lot from what is supposed to happen and with Carlton's history of recruiting I'd probably go with Goddard

Absolutely no guarntee that Drum will survive till Pick 11 and asthis draft is seemingly shallow after Pick 8-9, then I believe Carlton should get Goddard for Pick 11.

ACcording to footydraft all 3 of those will be gone before Pick 11 - if thats true I don't see why Carlton should risk it on a draftee when they could have Goddard
