Carlton V Essendon Post-match Discussion
What a great result, a reality check for Essendon and a big big win. Also proof that a tough side will always beat a skillful side and a side that is skillfull and tough will always do very very well. Excellent efforts by the team, they responded to statements they were soft and really put emphasis on shepherds, attack on the ball, accountability, tackling an bumping and the results from it showed. Hadley, Ellard and Judd were great doing the tough stuff in the midfield. Robinson was excellent with his effort as was Henderson and Waite. Warnock's smart play and use of the space was great, fell to a few tricks where Hille ran off him but that will happen, for example stood the mark in the center when he should have followed Hille and Hille ran forward and marked uncontested. Bower was the only one to have a bad game, got the wrong side if his man, when you are playing off your man, play corridore side and push them wide and when you are in the goal square and don't play behind and guard the space behind the goal. But Bower battled hard and shown good resilliance and kicked a nice goal an backed up my theory Bower could be a decent forward.
Once again, a bit of hardness and accountability does wonders, lets see it next week... and for the next 100 years
