Is anyone else watching this game and feeling slightly envious of the game style both clubs play?

I've got to say I get bored watching footy lately - but I've been looking forward to this game all week.

It's certainly living up to expectations as both sides have the pedal to the metal.

Anyone else wish our club could blow out the cobwebs and flat out attack?

Not really, i actually like seeing things like tackles and contested ball occasionally.

However, i feel that when we play at the Telstra Dome we play closer to that style of football as the ground accomodates it. Also once you see what ends up happening to Carlton you'll be very glad we don't play like that

All a matter of taste really. I realise i'm in the minority but i actually enjoy the knuckles down drag em out football which sydney and adelaide play with plenty of contested football with the knowledge that you've earned every goal that you've kicked, but some people like seeing more goals then tackles or smothers in a game and that's alright for them. My point is a side which is good at what Adelaide and Sydney is will generally beat a side that is good at what Hawthorn and Carlton is under the pressure of finals footy.

An example is that the last two grand finals have been some of the most exciting games of footy in recent memory and neither of them have been this highscoring basketball crap, rather, real football contests

Although Carlton are getting thrashed, you have to love their style of play. And the youngsters will develop quite quickly playing this style of football.

It begs the question, if you weren’t a Crows supporter, would you pay any attention to our games?

They'll also never win a premiership as they don't have any defenders. Think about it, in an elimination final you can't really afford to only be able to play this one style of football, you have to be prepared for some contested footy every now and then.

It begs the question, if you weren’t a Crows supporter, would you pay any attention to our games?

Fair call. I love the Crows but the way we play makes me feel a bit pissed off as I would love to see us attack, attack, attack. Another reason why I love the SANFL as most sides love to have a crack. I watch footy to see attacking gameplans and I am concerned that we don't do this at present, in the past couple of years when we have dominated the competition we have gone flat out and flogged sides. Now we appear happy to grind the game out and steal a win, it is bloody frustrating and considering this is my first year as a member I am a bit upset, no wonder I spend so much time at the bar sinking piss instead of standing on the terraces.

The possibility of how good Hawthorn could be scares me.

Franklin and Roughead. Plus you got a guy like Boyle and and bloody Mitch Thorp tearing everyone in the VFL a new one. And he hasn't even played AFL yet.

The west coast dynasty could be moving over for a Hawthorn one before it even starts.

It's interesting comparing hawthorns rebuilding phase to Richmonds.
