It's like that Elton John Song...."The circle of spending hours after hours researching potential draftees despite not knowing where we will finish on the ladder and then once we do know we still don't know which picks we take to the draft because SOS has hinted we will be active and once we do know the picks, we don't know who we will draft and we should just wait to see who we pick up but none of that matters because I am addicted to the Carlton and BF life".

I have this gut feel that Connor Rozee will be the best in his draft class and maybe the next De Goey. I just wonder or if SOS thinks he is worthy of the number 1 pick.

At the start of the year, I was thinking Luko, Walsh, Rankine or Rozee.... Nothing much has really changed with those top 4 names.

I am pretty sure its not a draft type thing. Its a FA type where the mature agers sign with either of the clubs.

Which is strange if the idea is to ontrade them. How does it work exactly? Does Carlton actually sign a player or just nominate them? If nominated, can GCS also nominate them? If we sign them, what are the mechanics involved in us transferring the contract to a third club? DoeDoes the third club actually sign the player first? This all seems so... half-arsed.

Yes likely true. In which case we are in box seat as the talent people have on radar are South Australians (handy for us to trade to Crows) and Victorians (handy if we want to retain on our list).

It will be interesting to see where we sit at the end of trade week. I was going to say there's a lot of water to go under the bridge, but with the amount of big names that keep surfacing it could well be a tsunami.

If Lobb & Shiel are genuinely on the trade table could it be GWS that come knocking with a Godfather deal for Pick 1??? They burnt through a power of 1st Rounders to get their hands on Taranto in 2016. GWS have never been shrinking violets when it comes to throwing their weight around the trade table.
