pick 5 - M King (replacement for Mckay - better forward)

Even if we could trade McKay I have no idea why we would want to, we have put 3 years into developing him and are on the cusp of getting a decde of great footy out of him, why would we gamble that on a draftee who we would then have to put 3 years into just to get him to McKay's stage.

Plenty of respect for King, but McKay is absolutely under regarded on here.

Likely break out year coming when his body lets him compete consistently for four quarters. The kid has been
impatient for his chance, will soon realise it was all for the best. As a forward focus, will go straight past Charlie
and McGov this coming season or next.

He, let alone us, is about to find out how good he really is.

The conundrum becomes greater when TDK and Kerr start kicking goals literally and figuratively in the twos. We
will have an embarrassment of quality tall forwards.

A) We can't include players any more.
B) If we could, we're not trading Harry so we can get Max King...
C) Port aren't giving us 5, 10 and their future first for 2.
C) Adelaide aren't giving us 8, 13 and their future first for 3.
D) Debatable as to whether Max King is better than Harry. If he is, it will take years for him to show it.
E) Caldwell is one year younger than Dow, he's not "helping" him in any meaningful way.
F) RCD isn't helping Cripps for at least another 3 years.
G) We only have 4 senior list spots, so Picks 16, 69 and 71 would disappear as soon as we walk through the front door.
H) I skipped the letter F.
I) You just looked back to see if I did indeed skip the letter F, and realised I didn't.
J) It was all an elaborate misdirection to stop you realising there are two C's.

That can only be done in the trade period (been and gone).

I didn't hear Beatson as i long ago(about 2 years) decided to ditch SEN as any talk radio is sanity destroying. If anything of interest actually appears on that joint, you can just go to their podcast anyway.

Back to your post, i'm getting the distinct impression that nearly every recruiter has Walsh and Rankine seperating from the rest.

My gut feel on the draft on Thursday:

2. GC: Izak Rankine
3. GC: Jack Lukosius
4. StK: Max King
5. Syd: Nick Blakey
6. PA: Connor Rozee
7. GC: Jye Caldwell
8. WB: Bailey Smith
9. Ade: Ben King
10. GWS: Chayce Jones
11. PA: Jordan Clark
12. GWS: RCD
13. Gee: Jackson Hately
14. NM: Tarryn Thomas
15. Ade: ? Maybe Butters but i don't think so.
16. Freo: Zac Butters
17. PA: Ian Hill

Then anything can happen. It's not quite the way i'd do it but i reckon it's what's gonna happen.

I think StKilda really want a runner, hence their wish to go down the order and avoid the decision to pass up Max King. In the end i think they'll go with King. Really tough choice for them.
