But guys this is two first round picks for the price of one....(hopefully not pick 1). I like it. Stocker won’t be a bust too, he’s tough and strong and can play. Not sure why we rated him so much higher than Riley Collier Dawkins though.

But I like it.

Not at all. I'm not sure why people think like this...

If Stocker turns out to be a gun is it not worth it? One year early, bring more players through together. And we'll very likely trade Crows' first rounder for a mature player, no more youngsters the rebuild is complete.

Hopper miles in front and even with the better Setterfield gone, along with Shiel, he'll still likely play the year out in the NEAFL. Not good.

It's weird people don't put the bigger picture into frame.

With all due respect HARKER you have no idea how good this kid is. Will be an absolute cracker. He's a lot better runner than virtually anyone here acknowledges and has a running jump not far off Rozee and Jones.

Geez that's an interesting move.

At best it's Pick 19(Stocker) and Pick 6-10ish for our pick 3-6ish

At worst it's Stocker and pick 16 for our pick 1.

Nothing like it now. Two instant midfield recruits for us.

Huge transformation in our overall workrate in combination with Setterfield and McGovern, and shows you why I wanted those picks in the 20s.

Not 100% sure I like the Carlton trade, I hope to god we improve this season.

I love it. No need to obsess over who we're going to pick early in the draft next year, that time is over. We've added our final two young mids tonight, time to start winning some games and attacking free agency.

Really happy with this move. It's really just trading two first for one plus we get one a year early.
If we haven't got the talent to move right up the ladder by now even a top 1-3 pick next year won't help us because we would have a lot bigger issues than the access to top end picks.

Plus 2 top 20 players in the draft?

That’s not a bad little off season

I think others are right, next year pick mature age, if he nominated us and is worth a first round pick, they would take ours at 3 or Adelaides at 10, just depending on which one we have.

It’s how nominated of the club seems to be working now

Wanted an extra pick in the first round, at the expense of our 2019 1st, and we got it whilst maintaining a presence in that first round.

Bit of a risk but the extra year’s development into a young kid is worth it.

Yeah seems a real SOS special, there is some risk but the odds are in our favour IMO.
