1. Out of the most common source she has - her ass.
2. I believe because she is envious of the club and list we have in comparison to Richmond and also the fact that she was proven wrong on all accounts.
3.Spot on. The more she carries on the worse she looks - clearly the club has been considered and calculated in their responses to her non-factual columns.
 
I was basically reduced to a wreck, sobbing with laughter, when I heard her pronounciation of Arocca.

Awocca. Christ Almighty.

2 reasons, IMHO :

a) when she was young, Daddy was president at Richmond, and there was a very intense and bitter rivalry between the 2 clubs

b) in '07, she staked her professional reputation on being first with the news that North would go to the Gold Coast. When that didn't happen, she had egg on her face. She obviously believes she can only be vindicated if North folds, and she can say 'I TOLD you they should have gone to the Gold Coast!'.

It goes all the way back to the 1904 Grand final:

In 1904 Richmond again made the grand final but controversy ensued. Earlier in the year when Richmond and North had first met, Richmond had complained that North players had worn illegal spikes in their boots in earlier games. Richmond had called on umpire Allen to inspect North's boots, North refused him permission and umpire Allen didn't press the issue. As a result the Richmond board wrote to the VFA insisting that umpire Allen not be chosen to officiate the grand final. The VFA appointed Allen, Richmond refused to play and North were declared premiers by default.

In 1905 Richmond won the premiership despite being the outcasts of the VFA. During this year Richmond had beaten North Melbourne who had in turn beaten the umpire.

Then there's the 74 grand final, Bartlett/Greig scenario, the infamous Stephen Easton incident.
 
The Gemba report Nov 2007 on page one has six "potential revenue improvements possible in order to reach a Full Potential Scenario" dot points.

The fourth dot point reads " Effectively negotiate with the AFL to play at least 2 home games per year (post 2009) at $250k per game outside of Melbourne (e.g. Western Sydney, Canberra).

The fifth point reads " Effectively negotiate with the AFL to play at least one additional game at the MCG rather than the Telstra Dome".

This report was the basis of the JB stay in Melbourne position.

This is the thing. Its OK to be a controversiliast and piss people off when it rbings in sales/ratings - think Bolt, Bill O'Reilly etc - but when you're pissing people off and your product ain't selling ... er ... er.
 
I agree with everything said on this post and have nothing to add about how idiotic she looked and how she's "damaged her own brand" lately with this thoroughly inept performance, and her incorrect articles re the Matthew Knights fallout and Essendon wearing a promo jumper this week. (Although apparently they will be next week.) The Age may wish to review how a senior journalist can make so many stuff ups of late.

BUT

I don't know if JB is the man to tear into anyone on a show such as Footy Classified or any other for that matter. Don't get me wrong - I love the work he's done for NMFC so far and he'll defend the club to the hilt. But if we want him to mark our turf like a big black dog pissing against a tree, to me he comes across too likable, too down to earth and too nice. Maybe Eug Awocca is better qualified. At least if JB went on Footy Classified he'd get support from Lyon, Hutchy (for now I'll call him 'Hutchy' instead of the usual 'jerk-off') and maybe even Thomas.
