Just love the last paragraph :)

CARLTON midfielder Andrew Carrazzo still hopes to recover from a broken forearm in time to play in Round 1. Carrazzo, injured almost three weeks ago on the day teammate Setanta O'hAilpin erupted, is healing quickly with the help of a plate and screws in his left arm.

"I've got quiet hopes of Round 1, but we'll see," Carrazzo said yesterday.

"It could be Round 2 or Round 3."

Carrazzo will wear a brace from Monday, allowing him to run.

"A special brace will lock the arm into position and still give it a bit of a hinge joint at the elbow," Carrazzo said.

He hyper-extended his arm in the Blues' intra-club practice match and immediately knew he was in trouble.

"I fell awkwardly. The pop I felt was the bone breaking," Carrazzo said.

"For about a week I was pretty upset, but now I'm over it.

"I've had no pain or anything post-surgery, which is pretty lucky."

The 25-year-old 2007 best-and-fairest winner is seen as one of the leaders at the club.

"I was a bit frustrated on Friday night when the boys were doing really well. I wanted to be out there," Carrazzo said.

"It has made me more motivated. It means I've got to work hard to get back."

CARLTON coach Brett Ratten did not hesitate to drop defender Michael Jamison's name when asked which Blue was ready to have a breakthrough season.

"I think he could be a real bona fide top-class defender and rated like that through the AFL," Ratten said. "He's really shown he can play."

When I read the section about Jamo, I was a little worried about Ratts perhaps, publicly, putting too much pressure on the lad. I wouldn't want to see anything that would hamper his development.....
Then again I'm sure that Ratts knows him well enough, and hopefully Jamo is mature enough to handle it.

I know Ratts says alot of things to the media... but everything he has said since he took over has happened.

He came out in december 07 saying Judd will play one praccy game before the real stuff... and thats exactly what happened.

He came out and said he's aiming for 10 wins in 08 and thats exactly what happened.

I have no problems in him putting added pressure on our players or the team in general...

I think Ratts deliberately said the stuff about him. He obviously knows more than us about how good a player he is, and knows he can handle the extra pressure/expectations. Ratts comes across as a sluy/cunning operator, I love that about him.

I'm sure Ratts knows what he's doing. But Jamo does look like one of these defenders that could really make a name for himself in the AFL.

Good news about Carrot ... He is a crucial and pivotal part of our best 18 on the field (as evidenced by his constant top 5 finshes in the B and F, in the past 3 years)

People who 'bag' Carrot have an fundamental lack of 'understanding' about the way footy is played, and why the match committee values Carrot's input week in and week out for the Blues ...

I guess this could be the end of everyone else not rating him and only us knowing how good he is :(

A sad day for all involved.

Don't worry. Life will continue as normal. We overrate our players including Jamo. Most of them would not get a game for any other club and are VFL quality at best.

Even when I players start getting AA selections, the selection committee will be a joke and our players will still be hacks.

Naturally the coaches of the teams these supporters go for are smarter than their own supporters and will rate our players as they should be rated.

"Armed" - get it? Anyone else get that? Because he broke his "arm" so they said "armed"? :D See now? It's a play on words but some people won't get it I reckon. Just nuts........
