Getting this horrible feeling of deja-vu!!

King out, Egan hurt, Playfair, Ricco, Harley all injured, KK, Dog and Otto severely underdone. Our list management is excellent but our injury management has been woefull in recent years...why do we have so many injured players by Round 3??

Our defence is looking paper thin for this weeks game and it looks like Otto (another dodgy fitness proposition) may have to go into the rucks which hurts our forward structure as well.

Not happy Jan :(

HAVE FAITH!

:thumbsu: We have the ability to win any game we want to!

Think back to the NAB Cup, and the team we had then...if the boys want it bad enough, THEY WILL WIN and get back to their unbeatable status! :p

(ah what a happy moment thinking about that defeat against Adelaide...) :)

Was thinking on this morning that we should play our NAB Cup team against the Dogs this week......afterall - it is an undefeated line-up.

Hey guys just wondering will Egan play?

It's early in the week but my mail from the corridors at skilled stadium are that Egan will be doubtful and that the surprise might be Kingsley who could have re-injured his hamstring late in the game.

Waiting on scans for King but given the "cotton wool" approach so far this season I'd suggest 2 weeks minimum for the captain.

The positive is that Harley likely to play a half in the vfl this week and a very good chance that Travis Varcoe will debut in the #5 jumper.

I know it is early days but if King continues to injure himself this year, the club should seriously look at trading him at the end of the year.

He is becoming more of a liability each year.

No No No!!!!!! Kingsley CANNOT be injured!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His not aloud to be!!!!!!! So many injuries all ready what is going on?!?!?! I'm so scared that this year is gonna be another awful run with injuries! At least we have depth in our list. If Kingsley is out this week we have options. Nath or Lonergan could come in. hmmmmmmm I thought they were going to look after our 'talls' I supose no one can really stop these injuries from happening. EXCEPT King doing his hammy was probably coz he didn't warm up properly!!!! It was right at the start of the game so yeeeeeeah. :(

TRADE? Who'd have him? If King doesn't get through most of the season without any recurring injuries, I would venture that he'll be given advice to retire. He's going to have some killer arthritis as it is, and I am guessing that the ability to walk unaided will also be a priority in Steven's future.

I am sure we could return the Ottens favour and trade him to Richmond ;)

Bomber mentioned on the radio that Kent had struggled to come up for the Hawks game and the way he was moving etc throughout that game you'd wonder why he was risked.:thumbsd:

Go CATS!!

So maybe it's not just Lonergan who might get a gig, maybe also Nathan Ablett?? Does anyone know what happened to Charlie Gardner on Saturday? I think it was Jess who said that he didn't play in the VFL.

How far off is Riccardi and Harley??

I heard Riccardi should be back for the Sydney game?

I know Harley will play 1 or 2 games in the VFL before coming back into the AFL (i'm guessing he'll be back for Round 7), but with Riccardi, does he need 1 or 2 in the VFL also?

You'd think he'd need at least 1. Then again, if they're trying to get him to 300...

Ling said this morning on SEN that Tom might play VFL this week or next.

As said by someone earlier, He was fairly certain Varcoe would debut in the VFL as well.

I'm starting to get a bit of a bad feeling, too. I hope our much-vaunted depth is up to the task if players fall like flies again.

I'm not sure it's an injury management problem so much as it just dumb luck of the bad variety. What can ya do about injury-prone players, except not play them?

Anyway, the next few weeks could be telling as far as injuries and depth are concerned.

There is no way King could be traded, no club would take him. I personally think he's nearing the end, I mean look at the injuries in the past year. I think if there is another injury once he recovers from this new one, then that's it. I think he should step down as captain and let someone like Ling or Mattie Scarlett take over, and do what's best for the club. Personally I'm surprised they kept him on as captain this year too...

Don't get me wrong, I think King's great and when he's playing and playing well he's SO important to our team, but he simply isn't out there enough.
