I am currently bemused by Brett Lee's theatrics of pulling out stumps whenever he gets a batsman out. It is just the dumbest antic I have seen on a sporting field.

I think some are timeless...Borg falling to his knees...for example.

What are some other sporting celebrations that you have seen that are great or tasteless?

and whats your opinion on Lee??

Lleyton Hewitt's antics when he beats the 457th ranked player is a shocker. He drops to his knees like he's in shock. :o He also puts his fist to his heart and gives it two taps [probably to see if he's got one].

Lee's celebration is getting beyond boring.

Not celebrating a win, but the Bulldogs celebrating goals midway through the Prelim Final in 1997 like they were a shoe in for a GF berth was stupid.

Pic a goal any soccer goal

Goran Ivanisevic after he won that Wimbledon final - much as I was wanting Rafter to win it - that was priceless.

What about Akermanis kissing the ground at the Gabba after a win? Thats becoming a tiring one as well.

The AusKick kids are starting to do an "Aker" after their halftime game.I saw 2 kids at the Cats v Dee's game kiss the ground after the halftime game.

Didn't he just do the usual tennis celebration where you fall over, lie down and cry for a while?

Good on the Auskick kids for doing an "Aker", they should enjoy it while it lasts. I haven't been able to do a decent handstand since primary school.

yeah, i cringe whenever i see that. i thought he was starting a chainsaw till you pointed it out.

rugby league players do the crappiest post try celebrations. of course it doesnt help the footy show playing them every week, they are shocking and range from using the ball as a camera, to using it as a chair (or was he sticking it up his arse?)

I have to say, of the very little American football I've seen, when someone scores it seems to be compulsory to jump around and act like a general knob.

i'd have to say the same of the very little soccer i've seen too, those homosexual antics appear to be in vogue at the moment

Ah, I don't think soccer's that bad. Besides, they don't get to score very often in a match so they may as well make the best of their opportunities.:p

how goods that beer ad where they're playing beach soccer...

depends on the situations.

if a guys team is getting smashed late in the game and he takes a wicket/scores a goal or somthing like that and goes berserk then it shows a fair degree of selfishness.

if its to try and pump teammates up then I dont have a problem.

It gets repetitive though when we see guys do it after every single goal/wicket/try etc,. etc,.

Yeah but in the context - whatshisface Jr. saying we're (the Yanks) going to smash the Aussies like guitars, or thereabouts - it was funny.
