The real reason she got fired was because she was less of a bitch and not as good for ratings, every good reality show needs someone to hate

QFT :thumbsu:

Polly worked harder than Deni so she is a bit unlucky to get fired but in this game where the object is to raise money, she is the weakest link.

Polly was doomed from the start, it was bad casting to include her in this type of show when she doesn't know anyone in the industy.

After two challenges doesn't anyone want to make some predictions?

My choices are:
Winner: Max Markson
Final 2: Max Markson, Shane Crawford
Final 4: Max Markson, Shane Crawford, Jesinta Campbell, Jason Coleman

Most under radar celeb to cruise to final 4 without doing much: Jason Coleman (although part from cracking jokes, Julia Morris hasn't done much thus far)

Hmmmm now where have I seen another poster doing ------------------------------------------------------ this before I wonder.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why, who was the other poster?

Polly could have defended herself so much better when asked about how she went and why she should stay in the competition... she instead pulls out the weak cliche of trying harder next time which was piss poor and that let the bullys push the blame on her even more :(

copy right protection. Polly ain't piss poor.

I"M PISS POOR MATE!!!!!:(

I have a couple of theories on why Mark Bouris may have fired Polly last week, even though others were worse.

1) Going in "cold"- I remember that a few years ago, I read a very interesting response to a post about "The Apprentice". The OP of the thread said that he/she didn't agree with who Donald Trump had fired that week (I can't remember who it was), because there were others who should have been fired more, and then said that it was obvious by watching the episode that someone else should have gone instead.

This followed a response which claimed that it appears that Trump does not watch the episode prior to the boradroom and the firing. So, he can only go by what is brought up in the boardroom by his assistants or by the contestants. There seems to be things that happened that are never brought up in the boardroom. This person seemed to suggest that the decision is arrived at by what is discussed in the boardroom only.

I don't know if this is true or not, but maybe Mark Bouris does the same thing (not watch the episode ahead of time). There are a few reasons I can think for doing this, but I don't want to make the post so long. If Mr Bouris doesn't watch the show beforehand, he could only go by what was brought up in the boardroom. So, for example, Deni's patting of the dog was not a deciding factor, as it was never brought up in the boardroom. Polly didn't seem to fight enough, and didn't bring up some things about Deni that she should've (it's all well being nice, but it doesn't help you in the boardroom). Given that Pauline, Lisa and Deni all targeted Polly, then the only conclusion Mr Bouris can reach is that she is divisive. She should have defended herself more, and thrown some mud back, but she doesn't roll that way (and may be a better person for it).

2) The other possibility is that it is what is called a "TV firing" (or that's what I call it). Like it or not, if Deni got fired, it would create maybe fifty message boards entries discussing it. But fire Polly, and you get 150 or more message boards responses. It works on the principle "If you like something, you tell five friends, if you hate something, you tell ten friends". Deni is controversial, so she is "good for ratings". So are Pauline and Max Markson (which is why he may have escaped last time). Polly, despite her "Block" following, won't bring the ratings Deni does, so she is more "expendable", in a manner of speaking.

This is why I think "reality TV" is flawed. Because there is always a question mark about whether the best wins or not, because either the viewer's vote, and they pick the nicest or who they like the best (if this was done on "CA", Shane Crawford and Polly would make the final, whether they deserve to or not), or you have a judge or host eliminating the winner each week, and having to make "ratings-related eliminations".

it is also flawed because people will inherently change their behaviour when faced with a camera imho.

If Deni goes over Pauline it's clearly rigged.

Although my overwhelming hate for Deni, could be blinding me from how bad Pauline actually did.

Anyone else think Mr.Bouris was pointing in Pauline's direction when he said 'you're fired' before they finished the credits? I sure thought he was.

A big post Melbourne Cup drinking game coming up tonight.

One shot for every time Deni "Poppy's not a real celebrity like err my Mum" Hines mentions her mum whilst in the boardroom.

It could very well end the day methinks.
