LEARMONTH, you have been a bit quiet this week. how did your match go on the weekend? Not as much to boast about as you hoped?

We played Kerang and got beat by 5 goals up there. They came runner up to Balranald last year by 2 points in the Central Murry Football league. Spoke to their coach Brent Forsyth, and he said they paid 150k last season, and thats were brendan Shepherd played last year. They said if he had played in the GF they would have won. Kerang have lost 5-6 keys from last season but Learmonth were without Madigan, Veldhuis, Gudgeon, Sachse, S. Powell, Kline, Farrell, S Rogan, J Sobey, P McGuigan who are all just about walk up starts in our senior side. Was happy with the work rate, but our turnovers hurt us BIG time, and for our 1st hit out the boys can only improve,

The two's got home by seven points with a probably the same amount out, so as a coach, the result counts for nothing, but u look at the processes that will make u a good side, and I was happy with the game plan which was implemented.

Will madigan play this year Learmonth?

Does anyone know what league Lismore-Derrinallum play in? Word has it that Clunes have a practice match against them this Saturday.

Waubra is playing a practice match this Sat 31st March. They are using the Avoca oval which is in good condition. Does anyone know who they are playing?

What other teams have you got lined up Learmonth?

Themsleves. They will be missing a heap of players too so they will probably lose.

Learmonth,
Any truth to the rumour that your coach and a Creswick committee member had a bit of a stoush last Friday night and the score is Creswick 1 Learmonth 0.

its pretty obvious that "learmonth" is the coach AJ beacham so just ask the man himself if he may or may not of had a blue with this commitee member, which i think is irrelvant anyway because the forum is to discuss the strong, the weak and the movements of CHFL teams in the season ahead, and speakin of that matter, i think waubra is the pick so far, my boys dford are lookin quite good thus far and learmonth are lookin to goods as well, ballan and bungaree will be disappointments and hepburn are sh it heads and on the slide:cool:

A long way from the truth NCFL, I thought your sources may be better then that!!! The creswick president (Jarrad New) and I had a chat regarding what i said about the creswick football club on this forum, and he explained in detail his responses to that and from what he said creswick are trying to get their sh it together and I applaud him and the club for that. Everyone is still allowed to have their opinion and ill always voice mine (not one to shy away and hide behind a computer), and I still believe what I said regarding some players that they lack professionalism and respect towards the crewick F.C and would be better of not playing at the club for creswick to surge forward. In my response of the president lacking credibility ect, I do take what I said back as I think he is trying hard, with what he has. There is always two sides to a story so it was good to hear his opinion. Also had a discussion on what stage Ash Creelmans clearance was at as he played for Creswick last season and is wanting to transfer to Learmonth. I disagree with their tactics and if someone doesnt want to play for your club then let them go, whats the use of trying to hold them. It will only reflect badly on your club in the long term. The only reason to keep a player is if there still contracted or unfinancial.

Heard Clunes are in a bit of strife - a few crucial player losses will certainly test them in 07.

Just wondering if someone can update me on how Beaufort are shaping up for the season. As a former Cats player (a long time ago in Ballarat days) I still have an interest in them these days from afar.

More players leaving Clunes. Mick Allen will be a loss. Are they in trouble?

Went and had a look at Buninyong V Ballan yesterday, and the bunnies looked far to quick and polished for Ballan. Left at 3/4 time with the bunnies up by about 8-9 goals. They looked quick and with paddles and Joey Gilbert starring in the midfield with a few quality talls, they will be around the mark in my opinion. Mullane -Grant looked unfit with his knee, and was hobbling all day, and didnt get near it except for the torpedo on the run, which he copped a massive spray from gilbert for being a team player (Quite a funny call). Anyone from Ballan, can enlighten us on the seriousness of his knee, as he is a star player, but looked very underdone, and for Ballan to go forward they need him super fit! Ballan did have noticable absents in Cartledge, Sims, Uhi etc, but seemed a long way behind Buninyong in my opinion.

Knee has been good, but apparently was a little sore on the weekend, and I don't think it being a Sunday helped the fact...

Their still waiting on 5-6 players to come back in...

Had his knee fixed up in the off season, probably just so used to limping that he runs like that all the time now. Done all the pre season work so it must be ok.....doesnt need to prove anything in a practice game anyway. Had a bit of an upset tummy too...bit of food poisoning i think......and there didn't appear to be any eyes in his head.

Would you be one of the 5 or 6 by any chance kid?

Why not just make something up like you normally do?

Good response helmut, how long did it take for you to think that up. Went for a look and just informed what i saw, maybe if you were a real supporter or more importantly a member of Ballan, u may be able to give us an insight of what u saw if u were at the game. I think my summary was pretty much on the money......

My mail is that at least 8-10 other players have departed, and that includes their young onballers from last year, so maybe they are lacking pace around the ground, seen Uhi play last year, stars for the first ten or so minutes each quarter then dies, lacks match practice and still hasn't been seen at training

8-10 players have departed but majority are only two's players. As for the two young onballers, benedeti will be missed but you have got to look at what they have gained. Matt Green is back form a stint up north,Danny Mullane is super fit and looks to have put on a bit of muscle. In regards to Tommy Mullane Grant. had his knee cleaned out at the end of last year, Even if he was not 100% fit he would still snag his four goals a week.
I watched them on the last weekend and they have recuited well with the ruckman Oliver. Don't right Ballan off just yet have heard they might have a couple of suprises for round one. Maybe a former player from carlton is rumoured to be purchasing a property in Ballan and will be training with them next week.

I have also heard there are a few surprises for Round 1. The mail I have been getting is that confidence and team moral is pretty good at Ballan and they should claim a few big scalps this season.

Very interesting about the former Carlton player as this was discussed earlier today at work.

By saying a few surprises for RND 1 I would be guessing that Ballan will be using the permit rule and bringing in some players from Geelong.... Under 3 weeks to go, so transfers will have to be in pretty soon if anyone is wanting to play round 1. Ballan will certainly get some BIG scalps this year, especially at their home ground, as they have some quality players.
As for the Carlton recruit, why not give a name, or is it more like a Northern Bullant recruit..????
