Yeah Scobes had a run in the 2's along with about 5 other regular senior players from last year. That was probably D'ford's undoing last year (lack of depth) but this year they look to have plenty of 2's players who can step up and play seniors

Who were the 5 regualar senior players, from what I know, Scobes and Reeves were the only 2...???? Also has caused a bit of disharmony up there with the great Clayton "Teeth" Scoble being dropped, with a lot of sponsors threatening to pull the pin if he isnt included this week. Will put some pressure on the new coach, especially since he didnt get in the best, and would be hard to drop anyone after a win like that. Good old Politics....

Hall, Schultz, Frith, Slater all played majority of senior games last year...they all played 2's.

Scobes still dominated from what I saw

Is that Nathan Sachse- ex Donald and Rupanyup player. I thought that he was assistant coach of Rupanyup?? If so a bloody great pick up. Has played VCFL and will carve up in Central Highlands.

Can we get an answer on that? Sacka is an excellent footballer can play all over the ground if this is the same bloke he is a genuine star

Spot on, the youngest brother of three. Nathan is at Rupanyup and Shane used to play at Edenhope/Apsley, but has now retired.

righto, anything like his brother then? half the ability would make him a good player...

more importantly can he do methane man like his brother..?

Do you know whats wrong with them tri-girl. U would think they would be ready for the start of the season... Has UHI been at the club at all..???

I got told he had a wedding to attend, but I might be wrong...

Uhi did have a funeral, Cartledge shoulder op, Watts snapped tendon in the hand
Pretty good mail there trigirl eccept uhi had a wedding not a planting. ON mullan grant just showed what a great team man he is when he cracks it over being sit on the pine for 5 minutes at the start of the last quarter. shows that he thinks that his btter then everyone else. Lot of guys left the club at start of the year because of his big head. He did nothing on saturday, when he did get it tryed to do it all himself and stuffed it up hes just a selfish player who wants to be the hero all the time. Now he just blaming the coach because he wanted to coach when scotty quit last yeear. He even made his cousen and his mate find there owen way home because he left strait away without them. I even think the club gave him some money to fix his knee and this is how he thanks them. he can go be the hero somewere else i wont miss him.

As KingRich said how about keeping your trap shut for a while and keeping things in house and let the club deal with it mate.

truth b known g'riddance, with what i've seen and heard, without doubt probably IS a better player than everyone else that was on the ground on sat. and for a bloke that snagged 80 goals last yr on 1 leg to be taken off at the start of the last qtr with the game hanging in the balance would be a little bewildering to anyone. not sure whether it was the fact the player was taken off, maybe the manner and timing would be more of the issue. also not sure about your comments re blaming the coach for not getting the gig himself, with the success and tutorage he's had over his career to date, sounds like he thought he could assist the club in a coaching role, which i suppose has to be commended. have no doubt about it, wherever he ends up, will dominate.

well done AJ. congratulations on letting the umpires know about shep and his record. because of that he got reported for one of the softest things i've ever seen. and he'll come back and prove u all wrong by playing the great footy that we all know he is capable of.

Thanks for the input TOMMY. What was I saying about having a big head. Without doubt IS a better player and then you say probably a better player, which is it. Go back to bannickburn and hand pass it to yourself all day.

certainly the young fella can play, and surely ud think a bloke who wanted to help further the club by becoming assistant coach wouldnt leave just because he got benched... u would have to assume there is a lot more to it than what has been mentioned here so far...

as for whether blokes have left the club because of him, i would doubt that, and as a matter of fact i hd a conversation with one of the balla recruits the other day who said mullane-grant was one of the reasons he decided to JOIN the club....

lets wait for some real facts before we play the blame game shall we?

The senior coach makes the decision with his selectors, and if he believes that was the best decision for the side, then let it be. Mullane-Grant, must show more maturity if he is going to coach in the future. This type of selfish attitude will not get you or the side anywhere. We all know how great of a player he is, but coaching material, I would say NO at this stage! He is still very young and has a lot to learn in this area. Stick to kicking goals. Also goodriddance, good to see you voice your opinion, everyone is allowed thee say, and thats what this site is for.

Pleasure to be of help, but all I stated was that the way he plays he will find himself in trouble with the way the game has gone. 20 years ago and nothing would be noted of it, but he will come back and dominate, but I bet my last $$ that he will be reported again for charging this season......

Id hardly call shirt-fronting a player in the head front on, with hes head over the ball is soft! You've gotta protect the player going for the ball!

from what i understand dt, he left soon after the game (after that bless 'em all song) more so in dissapointment in that he realised he could no longer play and produce his best footy in the current environment at ballan, than in anger. as thekid suggested, it sounds like this was the result of an accumulation of issues, and not just the 5 minutes spent on the bench of last sat game as g'riddance implied.

Like to answer a couple of posts, firstly some would say getting married is like a funeral ( death of being single ) , but the fact remains that losing two key forwards and without Cartledge, along with the fact that Uhi I am told has not been sighted as yet, certainly would be a worry for scotty, additionally to KID178 you would hope that recruits have come to aclub because of what they perceive to be of benefit to themselves. But my factual discussions tell me that a few players departed because of TMG. I agree with Learmonth , I remember Robbo dragging Jamie in one of the finals and you could see in Jamies stare he wasn't happy, but he never took it any further on that day.
