From what you say the foundations keep shifting?
Not really. When you start a build and you find something is wrong or not what you thought you correct it.

No questions at all about him wanting to go back to Adelaide after a long period away but does the fact Port where having a nibble at him about GM of football a few months ago make the decision easier?
Our CEO job is not the easiest for someone who is not an “Essendon “ yes man.

Is this a chance to get someone of absolute quality in?
I watched Jobe Watson on Trent Cotchin”s podcast and thought he was unbelievable. The way Michael Hibberd talks about him on Tommy Talks podcast shows that he could certainly lead players.
I think Jimmy Bartel would be excellent and has a touch of ruthlessness about the way he operates. Giant step up for both men but I reckon a footy person not long out of the game is the way to go.

Bartel would be great. Has some experience as an administrator, well spoken and obviously has the runs on the board as a player

Out of those two, it'd have to be Bartel. Just can't have another hird plant, sorry Jobe, getting the gig. Embarrassing wouldn't go close to covering it.

Would love Bartel.

but if not him, then Watson, given his Business background would be ok.

Or the Essendon way would be for Teddy Richards to take the job and leave the board.

And then we could add Jobe Watson to the Board as his replacement.
