Ch 7 Commentary - is it intervention time?

I read that this was scheduled - so not in response to said controversies. Also I don't get why footy people need to take leave during the season when they have 6 months available to them outside of the season.
I get that, i think with Kane and few others they also work Radio that extends past the season, i obvs don't know his hours but i seem to recall him working on radio throughout the offseason. Plus tends to cover trade period too

Also just in general if your travelling (not suggesting he is) it's a good time to visit most places outside of Aus right now

It's funny considering all the bitching and moaning he does about players having so much time off, yet here he is going on a break mid season. The real shame is that it isn't permanent.

The commentary isn't as bad as the directing. Cutting away from play at every stoppage just to show a coach watching on doing nothing, or a player on the bench usually getting a rubdown or the crowd was giving me a headache last night due to the frequency of them flicking between the shots

As if to prove your point, when the ball went over the posts, the cameramen panned down towards the ground.
Even when you can't hear them, 7 still ruining AFL coverage.

Not in this case. It was Bevo's small man syndrome that got the better of him. There is no story if he just walks past and doesn't start the interaction.

Then Cornes would have bitched that Beveridge ignored him and made himself to be a martyr because that's the sort of f***wit he is.

I was in the unfortunate position of a having a multi ending with North/Weagles last weekend, thus feeling like I needed to watch the game. I streamed Kayo for a while, when switched to 7 which I never do. Alistair Nicholson and Jason Bennett were doing the game and were a class above any other 7 commentators. They didn't make it about themselves, they could laugh about the horrible game and called the action clearly. Jason Bennett is clearly the best caller in the game (on either footy channel) but seems to be consigned to far flung games like Bunbury or the VFL. In the bizarre world of AFL media, Bennett's treatment is the strangest thing of all. Can anyone explain why he is kept on the margins while low-level performers like JB, Hamish and BT are promoted as "star" commentators?

Its the boys club at work. Unfortunately, Jason Bennett isn't apart of it
