Ch10/Foxtel are a disgrace

What a crap piece of programming by those muppets at 10/Fox. Firstly having 2 former Carlton coaches in the commentary box (Parkin and Walls) which was bad enough as they were calling for a Carlton free every time we got tackled. But what really shits me is that they refused to show the club song after the game. They went straight to Before the Game - which wasn't even live anyway (30min delay). FFS couldn't they have just had 1 less ad break and shown the song for our best win of the year? They showed Essendon singing their song on Before the Game FFS. Just another crap effort by the heads-up-their-ass Vic media. Had Carlton won, I bet we would have seen the song.

1. Walls was not commentating our game (as it was a Fox game, Walls is a Channel 10 commentator). However, I agree with you on Parkin - he was creaming his pants every time the Underbelly had the ball.

2. The live coverage on Fox did not include the club song either, you can blame the round 22 triple header (in which we were the middle game) for that.

well firstly. There was no Walls, He was at AAMI for the Port vs North game. The commentators were Parkin, Dunstall and Russell with some boundry rider I never give a crap about remembering the name of

and on foxtel it was the same about the song, cut straight to the Brisbane vs Sydney game, no song

but they didnt do that just to us, they cut over after that game to Chelsea vs Burnley without even showing the emotional sendoff of Crouch, Barry and Micky O, or Brisbane's song

I don't think you are seeing the bigger picture. Those commentators were reacting to THE GAME. In the first half of the first quarter, they were absolutely raving about Carlton - and so they should have. Carlton's work rate and output was far superior to ours. But when we stepped up to the plate, the commentary changed completely - and so it should have.

I think part of the problem was due to the amount of goals scored,the game went longer, finishing a fair bit later than normal and they had very little time to wrap up the match at the end.

I think that was the issue as well, due to the final round and there being 5 games being scheduled for Saturday the Crows started late and because of the massive number of goals and I think 3 quarters went for over 30 minutes the game was most probably about 10+ minutes longer than normal, it wouldnt have mattered except they had to cross live to the SCG for the other game.

Yes they know the vic teams, players and issues better than the Crows and that's whilst it may appear biased.

But b4 you throw stones ........adelaide broadcasts (and Perth) and SO BIASED towards local teams ......and it's because they are just not used to broadcasting to national audiences.

KG etc are terrible, I hate listening to them that they are so biased.

Der_wayne is biased to a degree and usually throws a few barbs in during a game about Adelaide's recruiting, past history etc, I guess it is because he loves Port so much.

Could have been worse, Glen Jakovich could have been doing the special comments. At least you can understand Parko ( still 2nd rate). I often wonder if Jako actually speaks in English. He is the most pitiful commentator in the history of sports broadcasting. Foxtel must discard him before 2010.

Dont think the showing of the song has anything to do with vic/sa bias. The commentary wasnt that bad, a little Carlton biased at first but they did a good job of talking up the crows, saying how well drilled they are and that they were the best team otuside the top 4. Any commentary without Robert "I make stupid observations" Walls is a blessing.

I've got foxtel so im waiting until the Collingwood vs Bulldogs start, but channel 7 have the worst coverage. The Saints v Melbourne game looks like its worth watching up until at least half time however it is only Melbourne so I wont bother watching it since I already know the score.

Channel 7 are the least dedicated to football, the delayed friday night and sundays is a pathetic effort. Especially since there one delayed game is pretty much going against the biggest game of the round. Could of been a good Sunday of football.

And there 1 hour of non-match football coverage on Sunday mornings is hardly worth getting up for. Channel 9 do a better job and they haven't even got a game.

As my phone only has an FM Radio (as most phones), I actually listened to Triple M's coverage of the game when I was at Hamra Homes Oval last night. I found their coverage to be quite good - Roo was doing special comments.
