Well may as well open the batting.

Out: Melksham (needs to find confidence and form), Pears (going backwards), Dyson (sore), Crameri (needs a rest)

In: Reimers (playing too well not to be picked), Hooker (should have never been taken out), Slattery (may as well play him), Browne (moving very well in the VFL).

B: Slattery, Fletcher, Hardingham
HB: Dempsey, Hooker, Lovett-Murray
C: Stanton, Howlett, Reimers
HF: Jetta, Carlisle, Zaharakis
F: Monfries, Hurley, Ryder
R: Bellchambers, Watson, Hocking
Int: Lonergan, Colyer, Davey, Browne (Sub)
Emerg: Gumbleton, Kavanagh, Dell'Olio

Re: Changes and whatever for Sydney

Yes... great reasoning for Slattery - "might as well play him".

We might as well get Simon Goodwin out of the coaches box and into red & black while we are at it. Slattery = NO.

IN: Hooker, Heppell
OUT: Pears, Melksham

He didn't play for Bendigo yesterday and just ended up sitting around getting a chill for the senior match. So play him (ideally I'd use him to tag Bolton/Hannebery/Kennedy in the Swans midfield) for a full match. After our insipid performance last night, we need to start making the RIGHT decisions over the fitness and form of our players.

Heppell won't play - it's a knee knock. Crameri can't move because of his groin strain and Dyson was struggling with his leg problem last night.

Look ideally I'd like to see Slattery back playing in the SANFL but we sometimes don't get what we want.

I'm taking Hird's word for it that Heppell will play this week. If the Crameri & Dyson injuries are so bad, they wouldn't be already playing. We will see.

Re: Changes and whatever for Sydney

The other question is when does Reimers get rewarded for his recent good/very good form in the Bendigo midfield?

With the way Melksham is playing, why not perform a change-up and move Reimers in there and see what he can do on a wing.

Re: Changes and whatever for Sydney

Melksham should get the arse but there is one lifeline I would throw him for this week. I'd like him to run with Kennedy, O'Keefe or another Sydney gun for as long as he can.

He is a guy who needs to be taken to contests and be shown how to run defensively. This is probably something that should have been tried earlier.

You must be joking - No-one benefits from that move.

Re: Changes and whatever for Sydney

Was a bit surprised that Crameri played last night, he doesnt look right

In: Browne, Reimers, Hooker
Out: Crameri, Melksham, Pears

Watched the Bendigo game yesterday & reckon Gumby might be up for selection after the bye, but Hille looks like he will struggle to make a case for reselection.

Re: Changes and whatever for Sydney

I dont think Browne will be considered, nor will Gumby (as exciting as it would be to see him back in the seniors).

If anyone, only the best 22 guys could be considered (hibberd, Heppell, Hooker) or the guys pushing for senior selection at Bendigo (Riemers & Kavanagh).

Definitely think the break will come at the perfect time for us, certainly a few sore guys at Windy Hill me thinks

Re: Changes and whatever for Sydney

Isnt Melkshan playing Half forward?

I think we can all agree that Melk's performances are handicapped (in terms of the assessment that is allowing him to retain his spot in the side) and that he is getting games because he is seen as an important part of the future. You'd have to question whether he is learning anything. There is no question that he isn't helping us win games.

If any more senior player was turning in Melk's level of performance he would have been gone a while ago.

Surely we can question whether he is learning anything of value being carried at half forward because he is seen as a midfield liability. He is a mid and we should either give him some sort of role there or let him play midfield for Bendigo (playing state level footy does not seem to hurt the development of any of the very solid footballers currently playing AFL who were drafted out of the state level competitions).

Re: Changes and whatever for Sydney

Sorry guys, can't do the preview this week. The changes I'd make would be:

Out: NLM, Dyson, Melksham, Pears
In: Myers, Heppell, Hibberd, Hooker

Re: Time For Gumby!

Out: Crameri, Melksham, Pears
In: Gumby, Heppell, Hooker

Oh yes, time to pull the trigger on Gumby.

Agree. Time to unleash Gumby, let him loose.

Unless Crameri is injured, he plays. Nat Rat can take a spell instead.

Re: Changes and whatever for Sydney

Your not gonna get anywhere when u have players like NLM (cant see him in a premiership side), Melksham (out of form) and Pears (out of form). Then u have monfries, who just takes up space in the team when u can have someone like Dellolio in the team who can kick goals which will also allow Jetta to move up the field into Monfries position.

In: Hooker, Reimers, Heppell
Out: Pears, Melksham, NLM

Monfries cant be dropped cause he doesnt play shit enough to deserve to be dropped, but just runs around gathering a few possessions. I would bring Dellolio for him, but that won't happen.

Also make sure Reimers plays as a midfielder!

Also I am really looking forward to see Hibberd come back. People forget how good he is. And give Myers another week in the 2s.
