Re: Changes and whatever for Sydney

Ive seen the last three VFL games, and his form has not exactly been screaming "PICK ME"..

Yes he was alright on the weekend, but there was a few others that were good..

It's not that good. It's serviceable.

If he gets selected, it is because he has earnt it.

Who would be in front of him that played for the Bendigo on the weekend?

Browne - no
Myers - no (needs another week)
Ronny - maybe
Kav - no
Merrett - no

* Probably McVeigh and Slattery who didn't play.

He probably is next in line, I was arguing he hasnt been THAT great at Bendigo.

True to a degree. We all know Kyle has to work on his defensive part of his game, but, I believe he has made improvement in this area since being dropped, whilst also still doing the offensive work well re winning the ball and kicking goals.

He applied three genuine smothers on the weekend. The third one being when the Willy player was running into goal to cut the margin back to 4 goals with 6 or so minutes to play. His intensity, and desperation has lifted - maybe the penny has dropped?

Having said that, I acknowledge that VFL is a very different standard to the AFL.

What would classify a 'great' game for Reimers?

Out: Pears NLM,

In: Hooker, Myers

If dyson and crameri are injured. Bring in Dell O'lio and Browne, unless Hibberd is available.

The guy hasn't played for 6 weeks?? I don't think he is going to be fit enough (match fitness) to play. Like Myers and Hille after a long layoff he needs to gain match fitness in the 2nds. Probably straight back in after the BYE

You are right and Heppell totally slipped my mind, I just miss PIG love the way he goes about it. As for Myers, while he wasn't fantastic he hit the contest hard all day and ran out the game quite well yesterday.

So in addition to my previous changes,

add IN: Heppell

Out: Dempsey or Melksham.

Piggy is definitely missed...need him 100%, don't want him going down again.

If i had to choose between Dempsey or Melksham to be omitted, probably Melksham, but fully fit and in form (i think he is slighty out of form and down on confidence at the moment) he is in our best 22

I would probably choose Dempsey, only because the 2010 version show pony BS he dished up last night, Melksham isn't 21 yet so he is going to be inconsistent.

I wouldn't mind if Bags got a run, if Heppell isn't fit enough. Even Lee if it wasn't his first game back this week, I think he would offer more than melksham. But I don't think we need another inside player.

Re: Changes and whatever for Sydney

Heppell and Hooker for Pears and Melksham seems too obvious (though IMO they'll think long and hard before dropping Melksham - they seem to have a plan for him).

Do they take a risk and bring in fresh legs (someone like Reimers, or Browne) for such a big game, giving someone like Howlett the extra break? I think they'll probably be conservative and ask the players for one massive effort before the bye.

Colyer or NLM as the sub for mine, assuming we don't have to use it early we'll need someone who can come on and make an immediate impact because if we are going to win I bet it'll come down to the wire.

Sydney look pretty scary. They have a really hard midfield and dangerous small forwards, plus they seem as well drilled and organised as ever. If we don't play to our potential we could lose by 5+ goals I reckon.

Saying that, I wouldn't be averse to giving Melk another chance, as he's a future leader and Hirdy may back him in to get out of his slump.

Re: Time For Gumby!

Oh yes, time to pull the trigger on Gumby.

Yep - that'd be my thoughts.

Five years and what, 22 games? He's fit - pur forward line just put in a putrid performance.

Get the Gumby on to Etihad Stadium.

Re: Time For Gumby!

We can still upgrade a rookie can't we?

Aren't Prismall and O'Brien still on the LTI list?

I believe Prismall is - are you thinking the Del for Davey? I'd be inclined to leave both Davey and Jetta in.

Re: Time For Gumby!

I think the one change that has to happen is Myers coming in for NLM. He is an upgrade in every area and can play the exact same role.

Prismall is, O'Brien never was, and Dell'Olio has already been promoted in Prismall's place.
