From reading the Box Hill reports Dowler has done absolutely nothing to warrant selection, Shoenmakers would be a better selection both back and forward.

Musto for Brown.
Bruest to be promoted and in for Hooper.
Bateman for Franklin (suspension pending).

Run them off their legs with a small forwardline and give Rough a chance to shine.

I very much doubt Buddy will be suspended. Nothing in it. Umpires should not be reporting / suspending players for making that kind of effort.

Ladson or maybe Suckling in for Brownie, Bateman back for Hooper (if out).

Dowler doesn't deserve a game. We want some consistency in the side.

I am of the impression he was going to be promoted anyway - if Brownie is serious it opens up another path.

Yes. I forgot,there's another given upgrade from the rookie list next week (before? after?). Has to be Bruests'.

Mind you... there are other's that have been upgraded because of LTI... Taylor / Bailey / Gibson. Katey, Peterson, Skipper... Peterson would be unlucky to be bypassed for Bruest?

It's just amazing to know that if Murphy played the same game Stratton did and gave away 1.5 everyone would be calling for his head and claiming that it was only luck the stopped Murphy from giving away 6 goals straight.

Do you not th a little unfair Daddy-o that other players lay the same kind of bumps that Buddy does week in week out and are lauded as tough players? (or at the very least let off by the MRP three times for exactly the same thing - David Hille take a bow)

I think its time that we as a club took a stand and not blame Buddy for playing footy the way he plays it - is it a contact sport??? Yes. Is it reasonable in going for a contest that will take less than 2 seconds to be decided that some incidental contact will occur??? Yes. Is it likely that a taller player will collect a shorter player higher??? Yes.

I would seriously love for the someone to take the MRP to a real court - where they could use real evidence and have this thrown out.

If Buddy played for the Gold Coast you would bet your life that they league would change the ruling to keep their Marquee player visible.

Buddy's report really is some sick joke. To the letter of the law, he'll go. But what really boils my blood is that they MRP will not take into account any mitigating factors. I.e, it was wet - buddy was sliding, he was on his knees - couldn't get any lower and the ball was in dispute when he started his attack on the ball.
Why are the AFL so ferocious at trying to keep players off the field? All this rule does is encourage players to go in head first (increasing head and neck injuries) and/or mean that players will just be allowed to gather a ball because opposition won't want to tackle them. It's about time they changed this from a reportable offence to a 50m penalty. To many good players (Buddy) being kept out of the game. /rant
