Changes for Adelaide game

Where do we go from here? Knights need to make the team watch how Collingwood played on Friday night to try and inspire the team. You don't need to have the best list to be competitive, you need to be committed. You could say bring in the older players, but if they are playing ordinary at the moment, what's the point?

Jetta and Daniher are not quite up to the standard yet, but that doesn't mean they can't play. I still say Jetta could be something special, but he is a receiver type player who will be good in a good side, much like a McLeod, Peter Burgoyne etc.

Nash needs to stay IMO. One of the only players who decided to go in and get the ball, along with Watson and McVeigh, and actually get us some centre clearances.
For those saying bring back Mal and bring in Pears, i'm up for bringing 1 of them in, preferably Pears, but no way both. Adelaide aren't blessed with key fowards (Tippett, and Burton who isn't that tall). Key fowards haven't been beating us this year, small fowards have, bringing in 2 big key defenders isn't going to help.

Geez I thought Jetta was good for the most part - particularly that hit in the 3rd!

Outs: Slattery, McPhee, Lovett-Murray
Ins: Pears, Johnson, Michael

4 possesions , great game.....

Daniher is getting well beaten in defence, he is always giving 5 metres on his leading forward. What i don't get is that he was playing great up forward for Bendigo then Knights plays him in defence.

So you don't get that they are trying to develop a young tall to be able to play in a defensive role as well as a forward.
Daniher has had about a 50/50 split of game time in the VFL as a forward and defender anyway. Even the game against Sandy when he kicked 4 goals he played just over a half of footy in defense.

problem is essendon have too many players "that would be good in a good side". no doubt the likes of lovett and jetta would look like world beaters for a side like hawthorn but essendon cannot afford to carry these blokes.

i think you have wrongfully accused mcleod of being a receiver and i think shauns worse than peter in that regards.

Ins: Michael, Rama, Houli

Outs: Slattery, Jetta, Daniher

Is Lucas a chance? Said he was aiming at a Round 10 return.

I can't see Lucas coming in, but I'll do one with him, and one without him:

IN: Lucas, Pears, Michael, Houli
OUT: Daniher, NLM, McPhee, Monfries/Winderlich

IN: Pears, Michael, Houli
OUT: Daniher, NLM, Monfries/Winderlich

Welsh to play HFF and make McLeod accountable like he did against them late last year.

Michael -> Tippet
Fletch -> Burton
Slattery -> Goodwin

Daniher to have a spell in the 2s, and get a bit of confidence back. I don't think he's quite ready for AFL yet. Pears to come in, as he deserves it.

Monfries to get a some skills in the 2s. He's normally been pretty good, but needs to improve. Winders doesn't look right yet, so he may need a game in the 2s to get some match fitness, or a week of to get over the injury he's carrying.

as opposed to???? that's where he's been playing the last two weeks and doing nothing.

i'd like to see jetta playing for the bendigo bombers and earning his spot

if jetta goes out of the side we lose whats left of our defensive pressure, he is one of the best tacklers in the team. he is avergaing 4 tackles a game, our second best behind alwyn davey who was on 4.6

he may not get a lot of the ball but when he does get it things happen and when he doesnt have it he still has an impact on the game...

In : Houli, Pears, JJ, Michael
Out : NLM, Daniher, Welsh, Nash

Mal should start at FF, Lloyd at CHF, lovett, jetta should stay permanantly in the forward line.

Let Pears and Myers, get their feet in the back half, with maybe a stint in the mid.

Maybe rotate watson, houli, mcveigh, reimers, longregan, stanton,jj,hislop, monfries through mid and some rest in forward line.

Its just a theory....

Fair thoughts there.. but Mal at FF? Our structure is already stuffed:confused:

NLM was horrible. Worst player for the team last night by far.
Lovett underperformed and was just lazy.
Welsh should be dropped. Poor foot skills at crucial times.
Bring JJ in, for his hardness towards the ball which we seemed to lack last night at the crucial moments.
DD needs to go back to the 2's and get a few kicks because he has been ineffective in 3 matches now.
BRING BACK MAL!

i dont know why you would dropped mcphee. Even though he isnt in his best form he does show aggression in the forward line and puts his body on the line and does lead up to the ball. Makes a couple of contests so small players such as jetta can mop up from the spillage. There are way more other guys who you should consider dropping before him.

Monfries is beginning to improve each week, why would you drop him? he goes in hard and also shows agression. Players that want the ball and go in hard are the players you want in a team.

To bring Lucas back in, I needed to drop a key forward. Lloyd and Neagle had to stay in, therefore McPhee.

I wasn't too happy about that, either, but there is no other choice of a midfielder to drop for Houli. People say Slattery, but he's needed the the backline.

Watson? No
McVeigh? No
Stanton? No
Hislop? No
Lonergan? No
Jetta? Counter-productive (dropping him, that is)
Winderlich? Only if he's injured
Lovett? No

That leaves Gus.

For the record, I dont think Dyson is a chance of coming in this week. He was rushed to hospital with appendicitis where I believe he had surgery.

Source is a close family friend of his. I think he would have been a good in against Adelaide, someone who can run and break the lines would be good against Adelaide.
