We'll need another backman. Depending on VFL form, I'd be leaning towards Brown to do a job on Roughead. If he has a poor showing in the VFL, Reid it is.

In: Dawes, Brown/Reid, Anthony
Out: Fraser, L Brown, McCarthy

If Shaw is fit, he can come in for Macaffer.

Just bring Dawes and Anthony back in. After looking at tonights scoring performance its clear that we need some players to stand up. Anthony is one of them, and Dawes needs to show his worth.

Out: Malthouse
In: Buckley

Only change that would appease me right now.

J-Mac needs another run!
It's hurting our kids by putting them in and out of the team!
Look at how good Wellingham has become after getting more than 1 chance every 10 weeks!

Out: Brown, Fraser
In: Dawes, Reid

Malthouse isn't the one kicking for goal. Why blame him for the players performance? You'll be singing a different tune when we beat a team in the near future, ala' the bulldogs match 2 weeks ago.

Changes have to be made, that's for sure:

Fraser and Leeroy have to go out, send a message. Macaffer out for Shaw. Nate Brown has to come in for Roughead, or if he isn't ready we'll have to stick with Leeroy. Dawes AND Anthony to come in, Hawthorn's defense is pretty average... we have to bring in some size up forward.

So what's that...

OUT: Fraser, Macaffer, [insert one of many]
IN: Dawes, Anthony, Shaw

And the Brown for Brown swap if possible.

For me, Didak, Davis, Medhurst & Cloke all out, they're forwards they're paid to kick goals, they haven't done so this year.

If that means we lose next week, so be it, these guys all need a kick up the butt and dropping them will do that.

Out

OBree - cannot believe he doesnt get more focus. An experienced mid who had 11 touches and never plays well in really physical games. Wont happen as Mick loves him.

Toovey - just not sure he is at his best at the moment

L.Brown - Good first game but last two have been average for the big boy. Wont happen though as coach loves him.

In

Goldy or Blight, Dawes & Shaw.
Would have Presti on Roughie and try Harry on Franklin. If that fails then Maxy.

Depends how they go tomorrow, but I'd have Shaw as a definite in going by what he said on MMM today....but the names I want to have big games are N.Brown, Anthony, Dawes and Reid.

Rusling kicking nine wouldn't go amiss either.

I know Toovey wont get dropped and he has improved alot. But he was horrible tonight and last week. He is a good defensive player, but he fumbles more than anybody iv seen at afl level. Clearly not a natural player

Rusling won't kick any, because he'll be playing on the ****ing half-back flank. Get him out of the ****ing cotton-wool, either play him at full-forward to get some touch where he belongs, because the club ****ing needs him there, or don't play him at all.

OUT: McCarthy, Macaffer.

IN: Shaw, Dawes.

Dawes in if he continues his good VFL form tomorrow. Anthony will get selected too if he plays a good game.

Lockyer, Fraser and OB also on the verge of getting dropped, but we need their experience.

You're taking the piss, surely. One of the few players who actually hit a target.

Backline's not his go, but he was in the best handful on the ground tonight.

edit: I see someone else has him dropped. I'm going to have to make you blokes a highlight package or something...maybe you were confusing him with McCarthy...who was ****ing atrocious.

the thing is, he's playing tagging roles, and getting beaten, and that's the only thing he hangs his hat on because he's so poor in other areas. goddard really got busy early on him early.
i swear, i dont know why he stands around packs, because the amount of times the ball spills out and hits him on the chest or the arms because his reflexes are too slow is unbeleivable. he fumbles, overruns the ball too often for an afl player. again, you would probably excuse it if he was a superb lockdown/defensive player, but he's not providing enough in that area at the moment, so he must have a rest. he and brown are absolute minimum outs for mine.

rusling
dawes
goldsack
shaw

i hope we bring the same brutality next week.

Dropping Fraser would be ideal but we can really stretch the Hawks in the ruck if both he and Jolly actually get heir hands on the ball. An idea would be to drop Fraser and bring in Dawes to pinch hit in the ruck when not up forward.

Outs : Fraser, Macaffer, McCarthy, L.Brown

Ins: Dawes, Shaw, N.Brown or Reid, Goldsack

He wasn't horrible, but I think he is the one that Shaw will push out. Totally different role to McCarthy, who I don't think was as bad as most are suggesting. But won't dispute it if he gets dropped too.

McCarthy might have played the worst game since Danny Nichols.

fwiw:

IN: Anthony, Shaw, ???
OUT: Brown, McCarthy, O'Bree

O'Bree, Ball and Pendelbury are all inside mids, and cannot play in the same side. Prefer to have a runner come in for O'Bree, but not sure we really have any options. We could, of course, keep J-Mac in and hope he rebounds.
